Those points are not invalid but I think instead of splitting hairs over every granular detail that goes into on field decision making one needs to see where the team as a whole is generally headed and what is being built. You can always make arguments for something else needing to be done instead of what actually happened, without less batting depth for eg. we would not have given a target of 374. Phasing out Hitman and Kohli are good moves and should go to his credit even if one doesn't like him, it needed to be done for some time now.

Kohli and Rohit are 36 and 38. They'd gone shortly anyway. But yeah good to kick them out after losing 2 series

if he doesn't trust him because of something he did we cannot say he should still pick him. If his performances are still that good then maybe he can have a change of heart. 

 

We knew we needed a new spin attack, new batsmen to be groomed and new pace attack to also be nurtured because we let all of them age together without bringing in sufficient number of new players at the right age. Siraj was exception and he too got debut a little late. That was overall direction I'm talking about, likes of Rana are not going anywhere considering he was at KKR. Gambhir and TMs anxiety was around batting depth this series which was why they did not give one or 2 bowlers a chance, that gamble paid off.

Only performances should matter in selection. If there is an off field issue a young guy can atleast be given a warning

 

I'd like him to back young players instead of changing too soon. The core is set but other players also need consistent chances

Have team leadership come up with some consistent penalties and implement them fairly.

 

Like extra running or push-ups for a week or even some decent, but not exorbitant fine.

BCCI will not remove him, will he be under pressure yes sure, even if the team does well. He was not the 1st choice for the head coach. Per many reports bcci tried to reachout to langer, ponting,j ayawarane all refused then they did not had many choice and then kkr did well under him so they appointed him.

Its clear there were reports that bcci didnt want him to have his own staff and then finally removed Nayar. How come a board meeting internal detials came out when there few ppl in the meeting.
