But I know why you want this swept under the rug, there have been a lot of pseudo patriots exposed, so you want that discussion killed as soon as possible.

 

If Congress did something wrong the discussions and attack will not die for years but now you want this ignored and swept under the rug and not discussed.

You probably already noticed from many of my posts, I don't really care about any of that ... considering I don't even live in india nor was I born there. LOL. Heck, I don't even watch bollywood and their crappy acting - I don't know how people watches that and gets entertained (not saying all movies are bad - it's not my cup of tea). Yes I have indian background and cricket was important to my dad, so I tried to watch/play it with him always and learned it from him, and that's how I got interested in cricket. Other than that, only politics I care about are Canadian politics and some USA politics since it directly effects us (me). So no hypocrisy and double standards from my end

Yes, I have no issues against straightforward people like you. That's exactly how everyone should be, and the world would be a better place if it was.

 

It's the pseudo patriotic hypocrites I cannot stand. Who spout hate and bile in the name of patriotism, use such opportunities to attack other religions and states. 

 

Such instances exposes their double standards and lies and lack of any morality or values.

This has nothing to do with patriotism. The Asia cup has lost its sheen after the decline of all the other South Asian sides. I know that this is T20 format and that brings the teams closer but again this tournament is just being held for ACC to make some money. India can still lose and some other side can win the tournament but again that does not prove anything. I am happy for teams like Oman, UAE & Hong kong though as they get to play big sides, other than that this tournament does not mean anything to me. India already have the most Asia cup titles. Like I said I will support India whenever they play but my sentiments about this tournament remain the same.

I see comments like this all the time here. Sentiment about India playing vs not playing - how does this benifit you as a fan? You or anyone with this sentiment are not paid by BCCI (I am assuming - don't know if you work for them but most don't) nor do you make any $ if India plays or does not play. As a fan, you just want to witness your country/fav players play, that's about it. Who cares which tournament they are playing in. As a fan, would you rather not watch India play, is that what you're saying because the tournament lost it's shine? Then what exactly are you a fan off - No cricket? Who is making money is irrelevant and makes zero change in your life (this argument is irrelevant for any fan and I don't even know why you guys bring it up, if you're not making money from Team India, it matters not)- but as a fan, you get to see your team play, that's all that should matter for a CRICKET FAN! 

So by your logic, when Australia was dominating world cricket, they should’ve just stopped participating in tournaments? No World Cups, no series against weaker teams like Zimbabwe or Bangladesh because it was too easy and just made money for ICC from tournaments? At one point we had tournament/series like Aus Vs ROW, those were great blockbuster for the fans. That’s not how sports work. Strong teams still play, weaker teams get better (BD declined - AFG rose up - wise versa could happen too in a couple more years, you never know), and fans get to watch the game grow. Saying the Asia Cup doesn’t matter just because India’s strong doesn’t hold up. Also, don't assume India will be top dog in cricket all the time - one day they maybe ranked #10. So cherish all the trophy your team picks up.

T20 WC 2026 was always suppose to have co host in Srilanka. It was already agreed that Pakistan will play all its matches and semi final (if qualifies) in SL. This is no hybrid model. Similar thing also happened during WC 2011 where Pak played all their group matches in SL.

 

The only thing they have added is final will be in Colombo if Pak qualifies. I doubt that will happen but there will be no way to find it out as Pak will never qualify for T20 WC final based on their sorry a$$ team.
