He coached domestic teams in Nz and argentina team and kenya and then NZ team. He has shown he can make good team out of bits and pieces kind of players and make then a good side when working together. Player may not be a big thing on their own but a strong group as a team. I strongly feel we made mistake by not appointing henson as coach. He is better then gambhir

Yes get the best batting, bowling, fielding coach and get assistant coaches too bt at the top need some1 who understand what is like to be star cricket. Edited September 2, 2025 by tapandrun
vvvslaxman Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 So this is the level of Pakistan. From tri series with Australia, India in the 90s to now with UAE and Afghanistan lol This tournament is probably 10 levels below CPL at this point. That is not saying much.

Almost all Asia Cup sides are playing random teams atm. SL is in Zimbabwe, BD playing Dutch at home, this Tri series. All part of preparation. Pretty sure if India had decided to play Afghans, Pak would be left playing T20s with Oman and UAE.

They are playing T20s twice more than any other team these days. Seems like they have given up their hopes on ODIs/Tests as they are officially closer to associate side now.

Pakistan always plays more T20s than most countries since the start.

They are focusing fully on building a T20 unit as they don't have players to build the ODI/Test unit.

Back to back Icc events, plus every board now has their own T20 league there is not much time where good/competitive series can be organized. There are 2 leagues going on right now, so most of the players are engaged there. sc players (specially) batters are finding hard to get any contract into these t20 leagues. Hence these teams are playing other sides like Nl, zim. Also the gap is getting bigger and bigger between sc sides and other teams in t20 cricket the only way to earn some wins for sc teams is to make spinning tracks against stronger team or play even weaker teams to earn some wins and ranking points. All sc teams are at the bottom of the raking table rt now and not much of a point difference so couple of points and they can improve the ranking. Yes ranking these days means nothing but no1 wants to be at the bottom.
nitinbwj Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Chewtiya minnows never learn. Chasing against Afg when everyone knows that Afg struggles bowling first.
vvvslaxman Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I was occasionally following 100. Saw CPL here and there. Don't rate either of htem. But atleast 100 has some good production value. But both events are better than the mediocre series that is going on here in UAE and BD vs Netherlands in BD. Wish we had scheduled a T20 series against NZ.

If they were good enough would have got contract to play in those leagues
speed_thrills Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 Boys are playing well today. Mashallah.
vvvslaxman Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 Guys like Isan Kishan, Dhruv jurel is struggling to breaking into side as keeper. Heck even Narayan Jagadeesan is better than this guy Haris lol How on earth he is playing internationals.

They already beat them 3 or 4 times lol If they had picked the right side in the first match they would have won that too. Pakistan is like an associate side who hopes to win matches on their "good days" Zero_Unit 1

Its hard to win against afgn for any team on a spinning track , all 3-4 spinners are near to unreadable even for good players let alone pak batter who lack good t20 technique.

Not a fair comparison and even though Ind wk-batters are not that good as t20i batters but most of pak player wont make into any good/decent t20i sides. Under babar -rizwan no batter was developed. they would hardly get 5-6 balls to slog and try to get to some respectable totals. Bowling was pulling all the weight now the bowling is off the batting got exposed where they are not scoring par scores. Pak has gone to tactical improvements -- batting deep and asking every batter to maximize what ever ball they face Edited September 2, 2025 by tapandrun

They lost to Bangladesh as well right where it was not the spinners that did the damage. Pakistan fans are over-rating their side. This hasan nawaz has said this is the best T20 team ever from pakistan lol
