As much as I love Kuldeep, and it will hurt our bowling, I can see the logic of Sundar in instead... He could be an effective ODI bowler , gets good revs. Can bowl in PP - not that it should be needed. He isn't a lower order batsman though. 

 

More generally, we do need batting at 8 for the comfort it gives ... Great that Vipraj got an outing today. Didn't bowl well but that okay for a youngster ...got vital runs

It is a simple theory. If batsman makes a mistake there is no come back. But if a bowler makes a mistake he can always come back with good field set, with cleverl entry points.  So an extra batsman > extra bowler in limited overs. This is how Bazball worked against some cricketing nations. They loaded the side with batsmen, bowlers who could bat. Aggressively psychologically damage the opposition with bat and use clever field set make the bowling look better than it is.  If you go with 5 gun wicket taking bowlers who can't bat no team is going to surrender their wickets every match.
