Before quota system south africa never went past the semi finals of any cup. After quota system they have reached 3 finals and won one. 

 

Racist bigots cried and cried about Bavumas place yet he proved himself to be one of the best test batsmen and led team as captain to a WTC win which even india hasn't.

 

Their quota system worked and PROVED diversity makes a team stronger, even mentally.

It’s not just quota system. T20s helped SA face pressure better. Bavuma didn’t deserve a place in Odis though. But South African whites treated Africans badly though. Boucher made some bad comments in the past. Their dressing room was always split between races. Quota system is better for integration but T20 also helped. How long do they need quota system is the question though ? It is similar to reservations in India. Whites had more opportunities to play cricket because of it being taught in good schools which are for whites.

Generations of discrimination doesnt get solved in a few years. Those schools were set up because whites were oppressing others so it was easier for them.

 

And i dont see how T20 cricket helps someone win WTC

 

I see many more cups to come for SA, only India will be able to stop them and win more.

Anyone averaging 31 after 40 tests should be called out for lack of performance performance. 

 

Massive credit to him for turning it around though and for winning the WTC. Will still likely end his career with a sub-40 test average and not even 10 test 100s.

 

BTW SA had decided to relax their quota system for big tournaments. T20 WC Final team had Rabada, Maharaj and Shamsi while WTC 2025 Final team had Rabada, Ngidi and Maharaj as three players of color.

The Aussies against BD scored 149 in 6 overs. That's like 5 sixes every over. The boundary dimensions are lolworthy. You just have to hit the ball in the air and it will go for a six. The P@kies though are taking these games seriously where our retired commentary doing uncles defeated their youngsters.

If any white player had failed, would his color even questioned? Players fail, that's normal in international. If you believe in talent then you give those players longer rope. 

 

Racist cannot have it both ways, when a white player fails their color is never questioned But God forbid a talented black player fails, then rhe racists have a field day even when the talent is obvious.

 

Once enough young talented colored players come into the pipeline, the quota can be relaxed.

 

But it was clear that South africa was not meeting it's potential because of racism and quota system has helped adress that.

Bavuma was the best batsman in 2023-25 WTC cycle. So many tough, clutch runs, at 60 average. Including performing in both innings of the WTC final. 

 

If I have to select a world XI today, Bavuma will lead that team.

Losing his shape while hitting, playing ugly hoicks, late on shots and got injured. Got hit 3 times.
