BCCI has announced a 15-member India A squad for the inaugural T20 Rising Stars Asia Cup, to be held from November 14 to 23 in Doha, Qatar.

Jitesh Sharma leads the team with Naman Dhir as vice-captain, including young talents like 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi and players such as Priyansh Arya.

India A is placed in Group B with Pakistan A, UAE, and Oman, starting their campaign against UAE on November 14.

There are some serious glaring omissions for me: Vipraj, Riyan Parag and Prabsimran

Not sure Dubey is suited for T20 cricket but could be wrong. Suyash is the only wrist spinner, Rathi maybe could have been looked at

I would like Vaibhav to be given more time to develop before this kind of exposure and Mhatre could have gone instead

The pace attack is decent. Maybe Gurnoor is considered for longer formats only which is fine.

What is the likely playing 11 ?

Priyansh Arya

Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Nehal Wadhera

Naman Dhir

Jitesh Sharma ( WK)

Ashutosh Sharma

Ramandeep Singh ( A/R)

Harsh Dube ( Spinner / AR)

Vyshak

Yash Thakur

Suyash Sharma

This should be the 11. Has enough firepower and batting till 8! Can even beat the Pakistan mens senior team.

The best 11 from that squad but honestly It could be so much better... Prabsimran smashed a 68 ball 100 , albeit in List A match, Vs Aussies A team ...Riyan had man of the series performances... Why aren't they in this squad? Vipraj had a crucial knock under pressure and offers a unique skill set. There's no consistency in selection

Parag has already made the senior team,he was dropped because of injury.

He has... But this emerging squad should be the T20 A team . And given Riyan isn't in the senior squad now, he should be in this

Jitesh is literally in the first 11 now he should not be here

It shows how scarce the pace bowling AR resource are that we have to go to Ramandeep despite a very ordinary IPL

Mumbai allrounder Shedge is also in the squad

Yep had a good SMAT but like Ramandeep and even Riyan and others, he's another who barely bowled because of impact sub

We have a full fledged fast bowling crisis atm. Lot of ICC events in SENA from '27-'30, this Dubai template won't work.

To selectors credit, at least they're trying to cast a wide net, giving opportunities to the likes of Yudhvir and Gurnoor

Think there are some rules around selecting team for emerging cup not sure if they are still valid or not.

For teams like Ind, Pak, SL, Bd they can have only have 3 players over 23/25 in 15 and only 2 can play in 11.

With Jitesh inclusion its clear there is serious drouth of WK batter fr t20.  Also fast bowling options have been depleted.

And for Players like Prab and Parag and others think ranji trophy matches are going on their domestic teams would want them playing for ranji teams.

India A vs SA A  ODIs starting that day as well.

. Parag Prabh , Vipraj would be likely going over there

Does make one wonder how good that A team will be with all the good A team pacemen in the Asia Cup squad
