BJP by gutting down AIADMK with their vendetta against Jayalalitha didn't help matters one bit either. They might get one or two votes here or there but they'll not have a sustained presence in South India. Their brand of development , double engine growth etc won't work here. Bjp in Karnataka is a caste based party and that's the only reason it gets voted in. Vijay is so inexperienced, first 2 years is going to be hard. He needs to manage the "aspirations" of his party members. Else he will face a revolt.

They might even have got close to the number of votes that the tvk got. It's just fine margins. Vijay might have gotten the votes this time but it's going to be tough for him with DMK not going to make it easy for him as opposition party. If he makes missteps, people are going to lose faith in him very quickly. One sensible post here among other state haters

Tamil Nadu backs only strong leader parties. Infact true across most of India.

bsriharsha Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Congress will focus to get back power in Karnataka which is easy because all parties there are basically ****. They are already in power in Kerala , Telangana and now in alliance in Tamil Nadu. Them getting power in Andhra is very tough but Karnataka is doable. It's still a sizable political force and will be foolish to discount them. All that needs to be done is for the Congress chief ministers to stop sending rahul gandhi money. Hopefully Pappu gets kicked out and we have a credible bloc in opposition to Modi. And not the bunch of jokers standing up right now like Mamata , Kejriwal , Pappu , Akhilesh

Infact true across most of India. They gutted aiadmk by allying with them. AIADMK could still do the grassroots and wait for a credible leader to emerge. But by allying with them and allowing the weak leader , they've basically signed the death warrant for aiadmk. Dravidian parties might support the ruling parties on national level issues etc but for BJP to actively join Tamil Nadu politics is a death knell for their alliance.
bsriharsha Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Annamalai did some necessary leg work against DMK so that Vijay got the rewards. I do think he can be a political force if he delinks himself from BJP. He's essentially shooting himself in the foot by continuing to align himself with them.
bsriharsha Posted May 5 Posted May 5 And south India needs a unified bloc. That's the only way to have a constructive force when it comes to central policies.

Stalin got lucky because of the demise of Amma and admk didn’t have any charismatic leaders in the league of her / kalaigner dmk is dynastic party , its success depends on how well Udaya can take over

If Vijay hadn't launched the party now , it would have been a closer fight between DMK and aidmk. It isn't going to change the base reality in Tamil Nadu too much though. Whichever party comes to power , the roadmap is mostly set.

Bengalis (most of them football fanatics) were damn pissed with TMC politicians who made that a private event for their families. They had to pay for their arrogance at some point. I still believe this is more a vote against TMC (political violence, RG Kar, syndicate raj etc) than for BJP. 2031 election will tell us if they have truly accepted BJP as the way forward. If I go by the social media post .people are just happy to see TMC out....BJP will rule for at least 2-3 elections as tmc will be finished. Some people are happy because of the bjps communal angle....but majority are hopeful that BJP will bring in jobs and industry. I am sceptical...as the condition of India under BJP rule is abysmal. I do expect some of the bjps crony capitalists to set up toke one or two industries to show progress...but don't expect any structural improvements to West Bengal. And this is not just bjps fault....Bengal lacks the culture of business and industry ...is not entrepreneural...but still some investment is better than nothing. Over time the vacuum will be filled and I expect it will be left front who voted BJP to get rid of mamata that will challenge BJP in bengal....as they are also a idelsogicsl cadre based party. And BJP will fill itself with trinamul goons...already you could see the goons behavior with women journalist when the BJP state president was interviewing ..it's on ani website...samik had to intervene as he knew he was in camera.
