Future Test average 50+++ batters from India

Who are our future test batters from India who can average 50+++ in test cricket?.

Don't want to hear stories about clutch performances, one in an all time innings and posts of that nature. Not the point of this thread.

 

Who in our domestic lineup can score 100s consistently and atleast draw games for India. Where are the present and future batters for India?.

Our last test batter to average 50+++ and retire was Sachin Tendulkar. It's been 12 years since his retirement now and not one batter has replaced his runs.

 

Kohli for all the pomp and noise dropped nearly 9 points and ended up in the average mid 40s... Pujara almost similar story.

Jaiswal has started well but even he too is struggling to keep up. I hope he makes 10000 runs for India atleast. 

 

Who in the domestic setup is expected to be the next great test batter from India?

5 test losses and 2 series whitewashes begs the question.

 

There are not good enough batters anymore to even draw test matches in India.

There are hardly many 50 average batsmen around the world currently. T20 has corrupted test batting. Pitches are also more bowling friendly.

How many 50 plus batsmen were there in 1970s and 80s .There was not much whiteball cricket .

 

From India. One,

From Pakistan, Javed mainly due to home cooked umpiring.LBW was ruled out for him

None from England,

One from WI.Viv

Two from Australia, Greg and Border.

None from NZ.

 

I doubt guys like Dravid ,Steve Waugh and even Ricky Ponting would have averaged 50 plus if they played in this bowler friendly Era. Guys like Yousuf and Younis also averaged 50 that itself shows how much batting friendly conditions were there in 2000s.Thilan Sameraveera had nearly 50 avg.

 

Sachin, Lara, Viv and only other truely great batsmen would have ended up with 50 regardless of eras.

Oh come on! Steve Waugh was only the player apart from Sachin who was averaging 50 plus in the 90s and that was bowling friendly era

90s and 2000s were played on very very flat wickets. Steve waugh is not great batsman by any means, he was gritty but not great.

2000's I agree but 90's I beg to differ.How many batsman have averaged 50 in 90's? Please check and tell me.

Steve Waugh was gritty player lead by example as captain but he had lot of limitations and He is not a great batsman by any stretch.

 

He played in ERA where there were very few good teams.He scored one 100 in India.England was putrid in 1990s where Waugh made merry.

What about Windies, South Africa and Pakistan? Are you saying those were weak attacks?

He averaged in 30s against Pakistan, I forgot he was great against WI.
