Ashok Sharma has suffered a back injury, reportedly a stress issue.

When did this happen, that is so sad for the youngster.6 to 12 months gone if it is a stress fracture.

Ashok Sharma was supposed to be the most fit, athletic from the young fast bowlers. He is also injured now with hardly bowling in 2 matches.

I don't think it works like that, fast bowling is hard and it puts too much stress on body and especially back and spine.Stress fracture/stress issues  is very common in young fast bowlers, their bodies don't mature enough to take that kind of stress.

If if it is biomechanical flaw in his bowling acton then it will another big process.Kathik Tyagi has been lost due to injuries and is still not back yet.

Every fast bowler has a stress fracture when younger. Cummins had 4, steyn had 2,  starc had 3 stress fractures, etc etc

Cummins is returning from another stress reaction / fracture now. Happened at age 33.

Hope he comes back full-strength.

And hopefully, we Indian fans are as charitable to our own players as we are to Cummins and refrain from calling them unfit mental midgets or injury-fakers or other such slurs, or generally questioning their commitment.  Fast bowling at that level is not a joke.

Cummins significantly had to modify his bowling action to deal with stress fracture. If your action is all twisted stress fracture will keep happening. It won't suddenly go away because you take rest. It is often a bio mechanical flaw. Either that or you do workload mangement, proper rehab like starc did.

Nothing to worry about.

Most express bowlers have back stress fractures - Brett Lee Rabada Nortje etc.

You don’t go about changing actions just because u suffer a stress fracture especially early on.

I’m sure he will be back in 2-3 months.

I hope the “experts” don’t tinker with his action. Unless it’s repetitive with glaring misalignment issues, best is to focus on recovery at this stage.

Also the biggest reason for stress fractures is workload.
