Only this year bro. From next season, things will be back to normal and SA 20 will be held in January after New Year's test in Cape Town.

If anything, RSA and NZ have increased their number of tests, and started playing outside WTC cycle unlike India.

Test cricket is slowly dying ,hard but true

They will certainly come with some tweaks to make it relevant but it won't remain same anymore

Odis are already dead, boards have now realised there is no place for traditional cricket or players to attract investments ,

thus they are channeling their machinery towards domestic T20 events

Once BBL gets private investment, the owners will demand a window that is separate from the international summer and doesn't clash with SA20

.

Boxing Day Test at at least one of these countries is pretty much gone permanently once that happens

test cricket has been dead for decades, its always have been Eng and Aus who were keeping it alive, now Ind joined in last  7-8 yrs.

Boards , broadcasters all wants t20i series.

They have to give away one format and its Odis for now. Can not keep 3 formats. Either audiences needs to develop the liking towards these formats else its not possible.

For a cricketer there is no point in thinking in playing tests cricket , can not make much mny when playing, can not mke mny when retired.

T20 sepeclist are playing so many leagues, once they retire from intnl crickt they still have 2-3 yrs of league crckt and once they fully retire they can join one of those t20 leagues teams they played with as coaches or specialized staff.

What does crkt offer to a test player....???

ODIs still get crowds everywhere. Decent crowds in places like Pakistan, Lanka and South Africa, even.  Test cricket barely gets any crowds in these places nowadays.

Also, there is an ODI World Cup etc which you need to prepare for.

Test is kept there for purist, Odi still gets crowds and players still wants to play it.  A specialist t20 player can apply and still play odis.

Still Odi wc is more impt to the teams than t20i wc

But for test need v.specific player and need to develop audiences for those. Compare it to baja racing nt many follow or want to participate but it has its own niche crowd and participants, tour de frnc , other multi-day game/events.

But the thing is it happens once in a year so there can be some kind of coverage etc.. can not build interest through out the year how test is played.

Bcci has a rule that does not allow Ind players to play or feature in the other t20 leagues, but as the Odi wc is approaching think they should let the fringe player go with their franchises and practice.

may be top players can go to

Rivaldo Moonsamy, whatta name !!!!!

Hope nobody with Pawkee background is allowed in any of these Indian owned leagues. Even if that person is from USA or Netherlands, avoid.

Off spinners do have a big role in T20 if used rightly. Subrayen other day bowled brillianlty in power play and won the match for them. Again he is choking them opening the bowling.
