if Vaibhav ever wants to play Test cricket then he has to move out of Bihar team,can't keep playing in Plate league but if he is happy to play only LOI cricket then it won't matter since we are now selecting mostly through IPL  now.

There's enough time for him to work on his technique. Hopefully time spent in the academy will allow coaches like Dravid and Laxman enough time to work on that. 

 

Makes absolutely no sense for him to be fast tracked into the senior team. That's still atleast 3-4 years away. 

 

Get him to knuckle down , earn his money in the IPL and then work on his game in the academy. 

 

For him to be hitting the ball that big when he's 15-16 years shows that he's got good hand eye , timing etc. Technique is more about learning to pick which balls to attack and which/how to defend or leave alone.

And I really don't care if he looks ugly defending. As long as he's not getting out and he's managing his way out of that without compromising on his strengths. 

 

Not everyone has to be a technique obsessed freak. What's more important is the contribution to the team.

A test cricketer needs to be proven in tests. A T20 cricketer, who is also a cricketer with a different skill-set, needs to be proven in T20s. 

 

This whole "Test or bust" is an obsolete view, in my opinion. The game has evolved beyond this. Rinku Singh is as much a cricketer

Agree with this,we wasted too much time and effort looking for all format players only to find they are very rare nowadays.

Like it or not, test cricket determines your legacy, not white ball stuff. There is a reason likes of Bevan, Malinga, Rohit aren't rated that high. Vaibhav's dad knows his cricket, and wants best for his son.

For tests he has to go a long long way.  In Tests no restriction for bouncers. He can easily tempted to play rash shots there. I don't  say he lacks skills. He lacks temperament. He has one of the finest ball sense i have seen from an Indian youngster.  Once he gets better temperamentally bit like Jaiswal at the start of hsi first class career he will give nightmare to oppositions all over the world.

But even if he doesn't get there and makes it big only in LOIs, he's worthy of every cricketing adulatiin.

His approach is similar to Sehwag, has the same gift in hand-eye coordination but boy are his hands quick. He has immense strength in his forearms.
