He is still important, but he surely can't bowl like this in crucial moments. He is the most experienced T20 pacer now after Bumrah, not a spring chicken anymore. Will you play him or Siraj. I would drop him for Siraj.

I will play him still, have backed him so far and to be honest, Siraj is never a good T20 bowler. Arshdeep bowls well when he wants to, but often it feels he just becomes too casual and distracted. putrevus and Vk1 2

What you said here for fun might be the norm in future.. Bowlers stats might be checked in terms of how many wides they have given on the offside. You would want a bowler who can park his ego and keep bowling wides in quest of minimising the hitting arc. Giving 50 runs is a lot better than giving 60+ in search of wickets ( do they exist? ) on these flat pitches. And I am 100% sure that novelty of thought too will come from SENA teams and not from us. Frustrated Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Not a big fan of his bowling. But we hv no choice right now. Siraj & H Rana are much worse.

Frustrated Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) We may go on to create tons of such new threads on who should be playing & who should not. And hv endless discussion/debate. They all count for nothing. Bottom line is: SKY will keep the winning11 unaltered. Edited March 5 by Frustrated

It makes sense, but then the bowler would need to have control on it. Arshdeep's USP was pinpoint accuracy, that's how he rose up in IPL. Here he was bowling on both sides of the wkt against Butler and Salt as well. I have seen that he often becomes casual during the match and it's only in crunch moments, he becomes serious. It's being reflected in his fielding as well when he just don't even move to stop the ball, and he's just 26-27 year old. Bumrah, you can see the way he was jumping around to stop the ball, he was running on his own bowling to stop the singles. Arshdeep just don't even move to collect the throws. And Bumrah is 32.

There was some stat that said he does really well when Bumrah isn't there. It might be down to TM to make sure he is in the right frame of mind all the time.
