cricspirit Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Horror catching. Not sure what is going on. Even Indian players are generally not this bad at catching. These catches are too simple to be dropped so frequently.

zen Posted April 25 Posted April 25 The batsmen are talking more risks, going more ariel, therefore catches offered are relatively more in frequency, so the fielding has probably not kept pace.

But very few are watching every dropped catch in every game so it is likely that we remember the easier drops. Maybe the ball is coming quicker than anticipated. Maybe the fielders remain more active in the field to tire enough to slow their reflexes. Maybe there is some fatigue (and less time devoted to practicing) due to the amount of cricket being played. Maybe the pressure to perform and hold on to their place is more. And everything is playing its part. Ultimate_Game Posted April 25 Posted April 25 We've some of the worst catchers going around: Dube, Abhishek, Shashank, Karun Nair, Chahal, Kohli, Kuldeep, Siraj, Brijesh Sharma etc. Even Jadeja has started dropping sitters. When you combine dropped chances along with Impact Player, it seems like teams are batting with 14 players! One of the reasons of increased scores is poor catching. Take today's match for example. KL was dropped by Shashak (who dropped 3 sitters last match as well) and then Iyer was dropped twice by Karun Nair. Then Sooryavanshi was dropped as well in the next match.
