He has avg of 21 and has won England series in Pakistan and has 25 avg in Australia. How many Indian bowlers have those figures.

Balls he did. The man of that series was brook by and far. Many other bowlers were better than him there. Impact in Australia was minimal in series where they got thrashed.

His avg is flattered by pre Bazball era pitches. They looked past these type of bowlers for a reason.

Did you watch him bowl in Pakistan?? He was one of the chief architect of that 3-0 whitewash.  He was bowling around 84-85mph and man always had tricks when it comes to seam

It was only coz of injury when he lost more pace and disciplinary issues he got sidelined.

BaZ and Stokes made him scapegoat for Ranchi defeat publicly

He has had many ordinary outings too. Ancient Jimmy also did well in Pakistan in 2022. Not like he was the only stand out performer there.

India stopped having out and out swing bowlers. India moved towards hit the deck seamers with a bit of seam movement. If you have conditions like you have to deceive batsmen in the air.

Out n out swing bowlers become useless in conditions that are not tailor made for them. It's not worth investing that much in them.

Jimmy was lethal in the back end.. bowling 135ish.  Brutal exponent of Reverse swing at the fag end of his career.

Our Trundler can't even reverse the ball marginally

You gotta have all of them. If you have 4 bowlers 1 of them should be able to swing and be the bowler who holds end

Seam bowling is toughest one to face.

Swing is far easier.  Boult is useless in Australia and India in Tests coz he lacks seam bowling nuance.

Shaheen also cannot seam but only swing

Starc and swing and seam both.  Hazelwood Seam bowler and so is Cummins.

Indian TM have the Right idea but they are looking for the guys with that skill set.

Why did they bring  him back then, he is far better than some bowler who tried to replace him.

He atleast provides control unlike other bozos who keep leaking runs.

Have to play the probabilities. Aus attacks never have this sott of bowler we have hard on for for a reason. We can't ask for batting depth and keep horses for courses who will be liabilities or rarely need to play. There are many such trundler in Ranji like Sandy Sharma Vinay koomer sid kaul etc.

Others are missing that's why. He would've played last yr and in ashes otherwise.

You gotta have atleast one. Seam movement is not going to be there everywhere. Ishant was our swing bowler who could also hold end. Aquib nabi both swing and seam.
