Yes Pakistan has better spinners than us atm...

We have better upcoming Pacers and they have better spinners.

Idk how but we only select mediocre finger spinners/darters in U19 set up.. mostly left arm spinners

Bishnoi was last wrist spinner that came from U19 set up in 2020

Yes right now Pak has better white-ball potential spin bowling options-- Abrar, Tariq, Muquem, Faisal, Qamar. All are with some x-factor which is now must in white-ball.

Think Arshad and Vipraj are good picks nothing wrong with them, Ind does not have many LA and wrist-spinning options. They have to try all who are there.

Both can bat are good or decent fielders ,vipraj took 15 wkts in Vht and 13 in smat, think in smat he was the top wkt taker when it comes to wrist-spinners rest were all las.

Ansari is good option too he should be developed as well , the thing is both vipraj and ansari are not big turner of the ball.

Wrist spinner options ::

  • Vipraj
  • Ansari
  • Punja
  • Shivang
  • Fuletra
  • MI player ---name ???

LA pacer options :

  • Arshad
  • Mohsin
  • Mishra
  • Naman Tiwari

These are only options in-terms of Wrist-spinner and LA pacers have to develop couple of them from this group only, may be there are 1-2 more , but who else.

Vipraj is not a proper leg spinner. He just has that action. Not one of those bowlers who will turn square even on a very dry helpful surface. Doesn't have enough revs like Kuldeep or dip like Chahal.  Just a flat slow leg spinner who looked woeful in this year's IPL. Pitched most of the deliveried half way down.  His stat for DC is 5 matches 9 overs ( that is less than 2 overs per innings) 56.50 average 12.55 ER. Sucked at all levels. We could also see why. Trusting him for 10 overs is a massive risk.

This has been age old problem with us,A side games are meant for newbies or someone who is a genuine potential, but we have been giving A games to likes of Rutu who is been around for 10 years,Avesh,Shardul who are there since eternity

After wasting places on many of them we are again dealing with likes of Bharibojh,Yudhvir(he too has been part of many games and I don't think he's good enough)

Now is the time to play Ashok,Tyagi get them these games ,they will bear more fruits if given those opportunities which like of Bharibojh and Avesh get,you have Mayank as well

They have even replaced Siraj with Prasidh,no vision whatsoever, rise of pace stocks in BD has clearly exposed Indian think tank

They alswaysgo with meek weak pacers to show the world we lack pace as always

They are using these A tours to their own advantage. It is only when we watch it in real time we see how some have good numbers in A. If you check social media BCCI has already started its PR for Tilak varma hyping two useless knocks. Players who are somewhat senior take advantage of their power. If they play slowly there is absolutely no one in the dressing room can question them.

Even Kuldeep and Chahal does not turn the ball much when they bowl the modern white-ball trajectory . They only get drift when bowing with some flight.

Chahal spin is of no use he spins the ball from out-side off stump and with no googly batters already know its turning only 1 way. He can not pitch and turn the ball from the middle or leg stump.

Kuldeep was also expensive in this ipl same with varun and they are Ind wc bowlers.

Have to find and develop wrist spinners , it takes time. Ind crkt system does not produce big turning spinners. the core of all these problem with  no big turning spinner, no allrounders and no high pace bowler is same, no coach or captain is ready to invest time in developing the players even at domestic levels.

Kuldeep has tasted success. Vipraj has never atsted success at any level.  When confidence is low Kuldeep can look real bad. But he is a pedigree bowler. Vipraj is not.  Can't compare.  You need to have atleast one delivery that should trouble batsman. From what i see Vipraj as more of a part timer slightly below Livingstone. More like Marnus labu. If you can't find a leg spinner go with finger spinner with variations. They don't have to force themselves to pick a leggie if he is not good enough.

Even Zampa can travel. But we cannot use that to back Vipraj. We should look at him in isolation and what he brings to the table. As a bowler he is inadequate. As a batsman he may be better than above average lower order. But that doesn't cut it. I was rooting for him once lookingat him as a package. He looked worse this year than the last.

Tbh Vipraj should've ha dan lbw go his way but there were no reviews. Guy can seriously bat so giving him a few opportunities might not be a bad idea. I want Parag to be part of the odi team, the philosophy is correct by bowling likes of badoni and Shedge.

They shd go with a new attack for the remaining games. No harm playing Yudhvir. This current attack is popgun and complete halwa.

Suryash is already part of few development team. the issue here is no one is big turner of the ball or are highly accurate.

They all are v.similar with not much ability to take wkts of big hitting batters or when pitch is not assisting can include chahal and kuldeep in it as well. So the idea here is if they all are similar and not big turner what else can they offer ???-- Vipraj is decent batter for lower order can hit few 4/6 can stitch a small partnership if needed

Rest of the leg-spinners can not even hold the bat.

Suryansh Shedge is one positive we may get from this tour.   This guy is a serious medium pace and spin hitter like Dube.  His bowling may improve under Indian set up.. someone like Morkel may help.

Lower order hitting is one area where we are short of options beyond Dube

A tours are for development of the high potential players or the players or skill set needed for the time. None of the Ind spinner spins the ball and most lacks batting and fielding skills too you have to try and see which potential player can be maximized to be able to play intnl crickt .

Its not just Vipraj any1 you will pick will be a version of him. If he develops into a good bowler may be in 1-2 years Ind would have a leg-spinner who can bat. Even eng is trying to develop rehan as a leg-spinner who can bat as in future there will be a need to bat as deep as possible.

Spinner are going to go through same phase which wk went through, where 1stly wk were speclist , then came wk who can give may be 20-30 runs with bat then proper wk batters and now its more like if some1 is batter and can wk a bit will have to wk and develop over time.

WHen you compare with previous gen leggies like Mishra, PIyush these guys pathetic. We used to troll them. SHreyas Gopal is also poor.  You need to wobble the ball in the air and beat the batsman in flight. Zeeshan is someone they can try

Mishra and chawala were season players , vipraj is new leg/wrist-spin is diff art. Chahal has played so many yrs of itnl crkt still does not have googly , bishnoi can not turn the leg-breaks , Chahar he still bowls 2-3 half tracker per over.

As said ansari is also a good option and sould be developed, there is no harm in developing multiple options. Will not find a out-of-box complete wrist/spinner and some1 who can bat too.

How about Shivang Kumar..I just need him to get more spin in his regular ones..they usually straighten..may be just flat ipl pitches..his wrong ones are spinning more than regular spin though or looks like that due to angle..

Some potential with the bat too..

mohd Enan has been not consistent with his bowling else he can do bit of batting..

still very young and can develop

Shaivang is good potential too, he can bat a bit too hit fe 4/6 lower down the order. He bowls with the modern white-ball trajectory.

His issue is same not a big turner of the ball and most of his deliveries leaves the rh batter he need to develop the ones which come back into the rh batters.

There are not that many wrist spinners so they will need to develop few of them
