Real pity how his career turned out in the end. 

 

He really disappointed. Don't know much about 2007 Eng series or series around that time. But recall that in 2013 CT he was supposed to be our best middle order batter and he was scoring 100s for fun in warmups. And then the tourney started and he went back to his single digit scores when it mattered and Dhawan won us the trophy with assist from Kohli and our bowlers.

True. This pushing players in the wrong formats just because they're good in IPL has to stop. Sarfaraz, Padikkal, Ruturaj and others like them will never be world beaters in T20 and it's not their strength. But Sarfaraz is good in Tests and Padikkal & Rutu are better in ODIs. Play them in their best formats not push others coz they're good in IPL.

IPl is a t20 tournament is v.logical to pick players for t20i from IPL, but can not pick test and odi players from IPL. 

 

Odi selection should be based on Vht and some exp. in smat/ipl, test should be ranji+vht.

Hoping a successful outing for him...we need to FastTrack FAST bowlers and A tours are best way to do that.

 

Mayank & Tyagi may feel hard done by. But Ashok has proven himself in last one year across all domestic formats...Tyagi's career has just got a new life and Mayank is still in precautionary mode.

Afghanistan has the worst NRR off all the three teams. India just needs to win today's match and Afghanistan even if they win their match against SL will not reach the finals.
