Infact' date=' the [b']Portuguese, Dutch and British invaded Sri Lanka - whilst India only had the British to deal with :D However about the venomous bit, I'm not really sure as I think when people are viewed with suspicion it tends to create a bitter environment. Coming from a war torn country I would say the less suspicion of the "other" the better. It's weird but Sri Lankan Muslims seem to have some sort of internal mechanism that seems to weed out extremism. Maybe it has something do with the fact that many Sri Lankan Muslims are quite affluent and their political representatives have always been part of the government regardless of the party in power....uh oh politics.. :) Not quite true Harry. India too had its share of sickening invasions. Right from the islamic hordes of Ghori and Ghazni in the middle ages to the British, the French (in Pondicherry), the Portuguese (in Goa), the Dutch, and more recently Pakistan & Chinese (in Kashmir, Aksai Chin & Tibet).

Dude, no one lives there and one of the reasons why China took control of it was because India never even bothered to establish any military base or post there - they were just going by some vague lines drawn by the British and thought the place is theirs for keeps. Tibet? Tibet was never a part of India as far as modern geography is concerned.

With so many people all over the world, lots of us must love traveling and a section like that would be rather helpful.
