How can you fail to qualify for a 48 team tournament? Got two bites as failed to finish top of their group then flopped in a play off v Bosnia. Play out dated football, stale tactics, don't develop young players & coaching is stuck in a bygone era. Bit like the death days of the Kohli/Shastri regime.

Bit like the death days of the Kohli/Shastri regime. They would still beat most of the teams i reckon. I think when they expanded to 48 team they expanded only other regions not Europe. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/italy-risk-cape-verde-world-154100719.html

Shows up to take penalty kicks to score some cheap goals. He generally doesn't do much other than pout on the field. Recall he was benched by the coach in the last WC and Ronaldo's replacement performed much better and scored a no. of goals and yet the coach was let go coz he put Ronaldo in his place for betterment of the team. But Ronaldo was too powerful and the coach was kicked out. Direct parallel between Portugal and India, and Ronaldo and Indian "batting stars". Portugal in 2026 is no different from what's gonna happen to India in 2027 ODI WC. The difference is that we'll be carrying 2-3 Ronaldos instead of one

Doesn't look like a team man based on how limited his assists were where as Messi always looked like a playmaker with a lot of assists. I don't know how he does with assists in other competition. But this is my observation. I mean if you score goal then it is fine. Shaq o neill was always poor with assistas in NBA. But he was better in other areas.
The Hound Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Looking forward to USA - Australia game. Aussie supporters posted they'll chant Donald Trump is a s*x offender in the stands

Now they have a player in Man City, qualified to WC. Kicking our behinds in chess. Even in Olympics they have won 50 medals (19 gold), first appearance being in 1996 Atlanta. 8 gold medals in Paris, even have a Winter Olympics gold. Pop 3.7 crores, HDI 0.74 (lower than 12 Indian states/UTs), GDP per capita is also just at par with Sri Lanka. @Lone Wolf these Central Asian guys have the brains, brawn and grit. Taimur, Babur, Al-Khwarizmi aise hi nahi paida hue wahaan pe. This Uzbekistan side has only one recognizable player Abdoukadir Khusanov. Expect them to lose all three games but they're punching well above their weight by qualifying already.
vvvslaxman Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Velupillay almost scored the equalizer. ANother srilankan Tamil origin.
vvvslaxman Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Aussies are getting physical with USA players. Seems like there is a history between them. Even in some friendly game they got physical apparently. Today already got an yellow card
Vickydev Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Both nations call it soccer so whatever the result.. Football will not be the winner today
