The Latino dna is hardwired with all football knowledge that can be hard to find even in some of the well trained European footballers. Giving them a contest itself is a big feat. Just that I badly wanted an Asian team to win this time. Especially Japan, who showcase excellent work ethic and play in total spirit of the game. Despites hours of drills, little bit of natural instincts go a long way. There were some really slick flawless moves by Brazil right at the end which broke the defense of Japan.
The Realist Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Japan sat far too back in second half and had no outlet. Literally invited Brazil to attack and could only hold out for so long. Lucky that Vini run ended with shot onto the post. Reminiscent of the dark fag end days of Kohli, Rahane & Pujara when used to go into shell/block, score no runs & then get out as refused to accept they were past it.
vvvslaxman Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Will Japan blame EPL for their captain Endo for sustaining injury in EPL :) Injury lists Hugo EKitike - LIverpool player , France Estevao - Chelsea , Brazil Xavi simons - Toeenham hostpur, Netherlands Kaoru Mitoma - Brighton , Japan Mohammed Kudus - Totenham Hostpur , Ghana MS Dhoni - 7forareason, India Edited June 29 by vvvslaxman

Incorrect analogy, Japan gave their best. Yes, there might have been a mindset issue where they solely focused on defence after the first goal, but that could be because majority of their strikers were injured. It's generally unusual for an Asian team to beat Brazil in a world cup game.

Never underestimate the power of DNA, whether it be Jamaican sprinters, Kenyan marathoners, Georgian weightlifters or Uzbek boxers.
Vickydev Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Yeah disapppointed by Asian showing this WC. Iran could have done more, they actually look the most physically dominant Asian team, Korea was also disappointing.

All said and done they are good. Not good enough. Vickydev 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 29 Posted June 29 If Japan had faced cap Verde they probably would have won it. Round 32 needs a bit of match up luck

The Realist Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Even if Germany do get through will most likely go out in the next round as projected to meet France.
rageaddict Posted June 29 Posted June 29 The disallowed German goal in extra time just shows how many football goals come down to the referee's point of view
The Realist Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Referee was fine with the goal until VAR whispered in his year. V soft to disallow.
