We could have still won from 5/3 as the target wasn't big, but the middle order was untested.

Pant and Pandya threw their wickets away when batting just started to get easier as the sun came out. Pant was dropped but didn't make use of his second life.

Santner was the unsung hero with his first spell of 6-2-7-2.

This. He played throught that whole cycle to get dropped just before the WC for Vijay Shankar.

Gill played before t20 World Cup but he was dropped and India won the cup . Rayudu not being there was not a factor, he was never going to be a difference maker.

 

Shankar at least helped India win Pakistan match, Dhawan getting injured was bigger factor.

Bhuvi spell with new ball in the game was the bowling equivalent of a chicken **** batting performance where no intent is shown, all back of a length deliveries and plays and misses as a result.

Rounout or not, Dhoni was not going to win it. Only Jaddu on that day could have done it. He looked determined after Sanju's comments.
