CZ has chooses Arshad Khan, Harsh Dubey, Zeeshan Ansari, Yash Thakur, Saransh Jain, Nachikant Bhute as their main bowlers.
Is Ashok isn't even better than either of the names ? No wonder our state associations are dumb and corrupt.

We have been saying for years that BCCI need to plan for Bumrah's retirement. It should have started from 2023 WC onwards when Shami was gasping for air, it was understood that he wont be able to sustain. 

 

Bumrah may be able to play till 2027 ODI WC, may even play 2028 T20 WC...but anything beyond that is a miracle for me. I really wish Gurnoor, Prasidh, Akashdeep, Siraj or whoever are identified as next gen pacer up their game.

In 2026, there are atleast 6 Indian pacers who can bowl entire overs above 144 kph.

 

Gurnoor, Ashok, Prasidh, Mayank, Tyagi and Tarmale.

 

Gurnoor and Prasidh are in the test team.  Ashok and Mayank got picked for T20Is.

 

But State / Zonal level selectors are not interested in any of them. There is a divergence in the objectives of national selectors and state level selectors. 

 

Ashok Sharma and Onkar Tarmale, who played Ranji Trophy last season, should definitely have been picked.

 

Ashok's exclusion is nonsense really. His red ball development process should be fast tracked as he has the needed fitness for 5 day games.

Where would they fit him in? They have so many tearaway quicks already - Shardul Thakur, Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Choudhary and Atit Sheth.

South Zone Duleep Trophy squad was announced, with only one Tamil Nadu player – wicketkeeper-batter N. Jagadeesan – finding a place in the 15-member squad.

 

And TN had no reason to complain as it was a reflection of the side’s dismal performances in domestic cricket for a while now, especially in the Ranji Trophy.

The JK players in the main squad are Wadhawan, Qamran Iqbal, Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh.

Pradosh did much better than Jagadeesan in this year's Ranji season. Jagadeesan made mere 106 runs at an average of 13.25  Pradosh made 564 runs at 56.40.  Baba Indrajith consistently delivers. But his time has gone. Has 6000 runs at 52.63 average  .He is 32. Sai kishor had an okay season. Below par compared to his 53 wicket season.  So no surprise.

 

Biggest untapped potential is 19y year old Andre siddarth. Averaging 53.19 in 16 first class games.

Agree.

 

Pradosh Paul and Andre Siddharth are the 2 guys to focus on ..... but the Zonal Selectors are being vision-less as usual.
