North zone has gone off the script by the look of it. It si only South Zone that strictly follows the old criteria. As far as Ranjhi goes i think they pick players from 5th division cricket i think. Deepesh and AMbrish will eventually play for TN.

Yes, looks like that way. most Nz teams are trying to promote their younger players specially those who can not directly fit into ipl.

Dhull was Del ranji team captain, Saran was captaining pnj.  Their t20 players are selecting themselves into ipl and they are promoting ranji or long format newer player.

It is our mistake to follow this crap lol I looked up every individual. They are all Ranji stat performers of 2026.  Here is an example. Eden Apple Tom and Nidheesh both play for smae state. They went with one who had better stat. That's it.

schoolboy logic from the south zone selectors. when i was in 1st standard   my elder brother and i used to play cricket trump cards  and i'd always grab the cards with higher stats and say  it's mine  a 6 year-old thinking bigger numbers automatically mean a superior player  south zone selectors do the exact same thing they look at one season's stat sheet and pick players without looking at age or actual caliber

This Nideesh made his first class debut at the age of 25. That is somewhat late for first class career to start.

Yes, but now its common. Getting 1st season when player is 23/24 after playing U-23 unless someone has played for Ind U-19.

I consider the loss of Sandeep Warrier as a big "L" by Kerala cricket..

He was a genuinely good bowler, probably even more potential than Prasidh. But for some reason, never got the same amount of backing.

Poor chap even moved to TN, frustratingly and made an impact their.

Based on the IPL backdoor videos, he seems like a good person, always encourgaing and motivating youngsters. Being happy with their success as his own...you wont find many such characters in Indian cricket. Suresh Raina, Md. Kaif were some of the others.

If Prasidh was not playing for GT,I doubt he would have got so much chances

GT did help in propelling his career...but he is playing IPL since 2018, was with KKR when Mavi & Nagarkoti were permanently injured.

Warrier was unlucky.
