Kumble pls retire and save Indian Cricket and its fans..

The guy has no concept of test match bowling. With 7 overs left in the day he's brought himself back on when he's been the most ineffective bowler. God damnit! Sharma was reverse swinging the ball only last week in ROI vs Delhi and he hasn't been given the ball ONCE since Zaheer was reversing it 10 overs ago!
600+ wickets

If you were going with 5 bowlers who would you drop? More Imp- who would you incluide? Had IKP been in the squad it might have been ok. But Mishra or another paceman would have got the tail too long.
who else .. its our ganguly :D well munaf is in form.. and wud have given an edge for us if we haave had him in the team.. and their bowling is weak.. so nothing wrong in going with 6 batsment incl dhoni.... if those 6 bastmen cant score aganist this weaker bowling attack.. dont think ganguly wud have made any difference.. since ozz has packed their XI with batsmen, it makes sense for us to go with 5 bowler theory...

Kumble finished off the day very poorly, but as a bowler this was the most effective I've seen him in a while. He looked like he could actually take a wicket, and should've gotten a couple of decisions to go his way. As a captain though, I'll admit, he's been nothing but ordinary in his tenure thus far. And yeah, he should retire after this series. The most ineffective Indian bowler today was easily Harbhajan. And it's something you can say for pretty much every Test he's played for India the past 3 years.

Exactly. You can't just be predictable and hope for the best. As the captain, I expected more from Kumble. I expected him to analyze the Aussi lineup and realize that they're going to pack their side with batsmen because they have no spinners. Combine this with reading the pitch which is flat, then it doesn't take a genius to realize that going with just 4 bowlers was always going to be silly. 1. Our batting is going to depend on how well the top order negotiate the new ball! The new ball is the best weapon against batsman on a pitch like this and so we needed to have three fast bowlers who could bowl together, in combination with a spinner for the first 25 overs to ensure we get maximum use of the new ball. 2. Packing the side with the extra batsmen instead of Patel is short sighted considering how poorly this strategy has been for us in Sri Lanka etc and since Australia don't have that spinner then you expect our batsmen to be able to handle their bowling after the new ball wears off. 3. But if you still decide to go with four bowlers then damnit, use your part timers effectively like Sehwag/Tendulkar to change things up when batsmen settle like they did instead of waiting till one of the spinners gets tired to briefly toss the ball over to Sehwag. 4. But the cardinal sin today was not making use of REVERSE SWING. Khan was getting the ball to reverse but instead he was taken off and Sharma didn't even get one over when the ball was reverse swinging. This is shocking considering how just last week Sharma was reverse swinging the ball in the ROI vs Delhi match. Kumble simply has to go. He's not been the same bowler for quite some time and as a captain he's a burden on the side. He has no fallback strategy, he doesn't use his fast bowlers well and he sucks in picking the right bowlers in the side.

wow.. it was this bad huu??? go easy on him.. he has won most test matches and taken highest number of wickets for go sake..
That does not make him a good captain. His captaincy has been toothless and lacks aggression. I would have introduced Bhajji as early as possible because Ponting had anxious moments against Ishant early in his innings. Bhajji and Ishant bowling at Ponting early in his innings might have been influential but Kumble went the orthodox way. Under Kumble's captaincy we lost to Aus in down under, lost a game vs SA in India, lost series to SL.
