Mishra can't be dropped for Kumble

Recommended Posts

The guy Mishra got 5 wickets and bowled brilliantly. Tremendous FC form transfeered in to tests. He also complmiments Bhajis flatter trajectory as he give it more air and is a turner. Kumble and Bhaji are to similar in bowling flat, not that much turn and looking for bounce. Mishra can't be dropped if you were looking at picking the team on merit! Kumble has bowled poorly a year now. Harsh as it seems. If we want to do best to win series. Then Kumble should not be recalled and mishra plays on. It won't happen but if doing it on merit that would be the choice and captain and greatest ever spinner would be axed!

He should not be' date=' but he will be. Kumble is the captain. I hope though he sees wisdom and stays out of the way. We need Mishra's bowling and Dhoni's captaincy. Though being a great Kumble fan it hurts to say so, we are better off without Kumble.[/quote'] I agree. I am a massive Jumbo fan as well. Love him to bits. But India winning comes first!

Kumble is an Indian legend with a warrior like attitude' date=' but there is no way he should be playing the next test match in this series. This will be the toughest decision of his career. He must sit out.[/quote'] if he s fit he will be we shud go 4 the kill n play 5 bowlers (3 spinners).the delhi wicket suits him very much

Hard to imagine Kumble not wanting to play at Delhi, which is probably his favorite ground to bowl on. Amit is a champ though, he has to play no matter what. The Aussies planned at length for Kumble and know exactly what to expect from him - there are no secrets left. Amit however, is very much an unknown quantity and the Aussies have no clue how to play him at this stage. He is an Indian Ajanta Mendis, and he could be the guy who makes the difference.

even though Mishra bowled good' date=' Kumble is 100 times better times him... [b']he is jus going through a bad patch...
Gawd...will people stop saying this? Bowlers aren't like batsmen. Their margin of error is huge from a match to match basis. If they keep struggling time and again, it means they're not very good. Especially in Kumble's case who's a proven veteran. No GOOD bowler goes through nearly a year of poor performances because of a "bad patch". They're either 1) playing through injury aor 2) just not very good anymore due to age or whatever. Kumble's BOTH. He's old, injury-prone and hasn't performed adequately for a very long time. Nobody can remember the last time he bowled well(1st innings of the Melbourne test last year, for those wondering). The guy is DONE. We need to stop being delusional about his poor performances. Dropping Mishra because of Kumble's seniority will be a HUGE tragedy. I hope Kumble hismelf, who has always put team first when playing, realizes that Mishra's going to give this team a much better chance of winning and retires.
