King Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I'd rather see a close finish. Although I don't want India to lose, it will be better if this game gets to a close finish rather than the rest of the Indian batsmen play out the day. If India can score another 200 or something in two sessions and if NZ has to chase about 150+ in the last session it would be great. This test match deserves a result. There has been few terrific fight backs in this test already and it would be befitting if a result is achieved.
Ram Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 If we have an option to play out the day, we should. We're on the threshold of such a big series win that its an absolute no-brainer that we fiercely protect our lead. Today is not the time for risks and experimentation. It was risky and exuberant strokeplay that got us into this mess in the first place and careful and trepid batting that got us out of it. Why change course mid-way?
umpire Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Kiwis have bowled 200 overs in 2 days and bit. Thats lot of overs. They must be feeling the pinch. Let them toil for another 90 overs.
Shehezaada Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 draw with Tendulkar batting all day should be entertainment enough
flamy Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 As long as Dhoni gets credit, I really dont care :D
SachDan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 draw with Tendulkar batting all day should be entertainment enough :dito:
ludhianvi Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 A draw for India here would be close to a victory for me. To save the match following on would be a great feat here.
Deleted_User_1 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Don't worry about close finish or a draw. Kiwis now will win handsomely......SRT gone.
Sachinism Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Happy with a draw There is no chance for us to get a lead, get them in with enough overs to bowl them out
DomainK Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I would have liked a close finish if there was a chance of India winning. But given India's lead in the series, I would like to see our batsmen see it off to safety....even if its boring.
EnterTheVoid Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Playing for the draw is nerve wracking enough
nikred Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Draw is just fine for me. I had enough of that heart breaking close finish in aussieland. Can't stand another one.:((
Fontaine Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 This pitch doesn't deserve a result. Day 5 and zero signs of the pitch breaking up, there's not so much as a half decent footmark to bowl at.
DomainK Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 This pitch doesn't deserve a result. Day 5 and zero signs of the pitch breaking up' date=' there's not so much as a half decent footmark to bowl at.[/quote'] Yeah....I hope they learn a lesson and bring on a green top next match.
veer Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 ahhh... never felt sorry for any team while we are saving it on the other end.. but this time I am. ..
