Deleted_User_1 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 The French are at it again..................... http://ibnlive.in.com/news/indian-passengers-flying-air-france-illtreated/92407-3.html?from=search-relatedstories Have any horror stories of flying? I have several and some in India.
Macj Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 El Al but in hindsight not as bad as this. El Al offered the cheapest route to India many years ago, and they interrogate everyone travelling on their aircraft. But in all fairness they are extremely polite and very smart, the guy approached me and asked how come I was born in one place, studied at another place and worked in another place. What sort of work, about my family , education etc. Surprisingly the guy spoke very intelligently on some of the more complex educational topics. Finally he asked me if I had made sure EL Al had a meal request, he didnt want me to miss a meal because the airline couldnt get a special meal. Pretty long discussion especially after a long flight but they do that to everyone except the Askhenazi and some Sephardic Jews.
Gambit Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Charles de Gaulle airport is the worst airport in the history of mankind.
The Outsider Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Wasn't Charles de Gaulle where some guy got stuck at the airport for a few years - there was some Spielberg/Tom Hanks movie on it as well, forgot the name?

fineleg Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I've heard that making connections at Charles de Gaulle airport is a major pain. Heard that Frankfurt is far better than CDG airport (and I thought Frankfurt esp the terminals where they connect to India are quite ordinary).
punjabi_khota Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I think Amsterdam (Delta-NW-KLM) is the best airport to fly in and out while travelling from US to desh.
Cricketics Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Man singapore airport is one of the better ones I have seen. Just fantastic
Kohum Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Man - I don't think this is racial - but more to do with what ticket category their tickets got booked in. On the same airport, I know a friend, who was told to put her sleeping baby through the security scanner along with the baby carrier [car seat type of thing] since the baby was sleeping. After I heard that I decided NEVER to go by Air France again. I have flown out of Frankfurt on abt dozen occasions now. Only one - oh very bad one- experience. They made about 800 or so passengers go out to go through security because they thought a few people sneaked in without showing tickets/ID. No one would say anything except in german. No consideration for small kids, senior citizens or disabled people, just everybody in long freaking lines [they had 4 security lines doing the checks]. I had my daughter with me, who had fever. The security guys started harassing about her medicines [ayurvedic ones] even though the medicine had contents and seal on it. I was almost on the verge of shouting and creating a scene, when they let us through.
Desi Cartman Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I have never had any problems but its sad that Indian air hostesses treat Indians badly ... No respect at all & that's why I also look for a non-Indian air hostess if I need any help

fineleg Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 We are our own worst enemies. it is ironic you say this after the kind of N' type things u wrote on the "stink thread"
