spectre Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Stiffle him with Yusuf and Raina, have long on and deep midwicket in place, he might get a six or two, but will eventually hold out or get bowled
punjabi_khota Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Play with a red ball. He might not even turn up. :hahaha:
King Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 There is absolutely nothing you can do about Gayle. On his day he will demolish the opponent whoever the bowler is. That said he isn't one of the consistent performers around. He's bound to throw his wicket away twice every three games. India should do all that they can such as using a spinner (Maybe Ojha, he takes the pace off the ball very well and the ball dips in the flight) and not providing much pace at the start of the inning but I'm already predicting he's going to fail against India.
Don Sharma Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Dont bowl short, dont bowl full if it is not swinging.Maybe open with Yusuf Pathan but no Ojha please, in case of the left arm spinner the ball will be coming into Gayle and he will see that through. I wouldn't mind a Gayle 50 and a India win btw.
vvvslaxman Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Gayle made 117 last time they still lost last time.
Gambit Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Gayle struggles against left armers. Vaas owns him so badly it's not even funny. The other day, he didn't do much against Johnson either. RP or Zak should get him early.
flamy Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Play with a red ball. He might not even turn up. :hahaha: :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Mr. Wicket Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Play with a red ball. He might not even turn up. :hahaha: Brilliant. Selecting Agarkar would be about one step forward when bowling to Gayle, and ten steps back against anyone else. If Ishant is good enough to trouble Ponting and turn his technique inside out, if Zaheer can make mincemeat of top left handers like Graeme Smith and if Praveen Kumar could dismiss people like Gilchrist regularly at int'l level and frequently trouble Gautam Gambhir, I'm sure they're all good enough to handle Gayle. At worst Dhoni can always bring himself on to bowl 135 kmh reverse swing.
Kohum Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Brilliant. At worst Dhoni can always bring himself on to bowl 135 kmh reverse swing. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: @PK --> Very true , just bring the redball :hehe:
Dravid Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 he bats the same way in test cricket too (like 20-20) so screw the red ball... give him a bag of weed
diegovegaz Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 now that sehwag's ruled out, what do we do? i guess ishant sharma will be able to trouble him with his pace, if he bowls accurate
Dirty_South Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 now that sehwag's ruled out, what do we do? i guess ishant sharma will be able to trouble him with his pace, if he bowls accurate I have a feeling Zak will get him...if not Bring in Yusuf early
diegovegaz Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I have a feeling Zak will get him...if not Bring in Yusuf early with yusuf, he'll be a good lbw candidate
cowboysfan Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 if the ball is swinging like it is today then we need to bring in RP.
