Can someone start a thread "Ishant sharma wicket watch". Among three seamers India used Ishant by far is the fastest in terms of average speed. Last match Ishant was faster than Umesh overall. But he is also the poorest in terms of wicket taking.

ishant is having good competition from other two fast bowler good to see him increase his pace when yadav and umesh join pk i would not be surprised if pk starts bowling at 140

PK is a swinger of the ball,he'll never bowl 140.His fastest will be around 132-133ks

Don't forget, he was man of the series against this very same batting line-up 4 months ago. Since his wilderness in 2009/2010, he really has come leaps and bounds.

I believe he needs to work in his seam position to get that swing and seam movement.

Cricinfo gets the hawk eye feed directly (same parent company) which is independent of the broadcaster's feed. Bowling speeds are picked up automatically by the commentary apps and the corrections in bowling speeds I believe are automated as well. Could be wrong though.

Haven't seen much reverse swing for Ishant. Is it due to the red soil at Wankhede or due to the condition of the ball? The speed at which our pacers are bowling, if they get even slight reverse swing, they would be deadly.

For some reason, I think Ishant does much better when playing under the mentorship of a senior bowler. Perhaps it just helps him mentally. He still does not seem to be a bowler who can successfully lead an attack. He is a much better support bowler. In that regard, this is a good experience leading an inexperienced attack and should hold him in good stead for the Aussie tour coz God willing Zak is on his way back to the team.

What makes you think so.He bowled rubbish under the mentorship of Zak on SA tour.I dont believe in all this mentorship thing,its all about his rythm.If he is in rhtym he bowls very well and when he is not he deosnt even look like picking up a wicket.He is highly inconsistent but positive about him is he always run in and doesnt know how to dance.

He needs a bit of assistance from the track too.

Today, Neo showed Ishant's fastest ball at 146K which they were not showing yesterday.

how so ? I havent seen anyone bowl better than him in INidan conditiosn in recent year , except Zaheer ..his stats at home are better as well . Needs to start picking up wickets though .

rkt, does it seem likely that Zaheer Khan will make it to Australia? BTW, I really appreciate your knowledgeable posts about fast bowling. Makes for some scholarly cricket-reading :-).
