RIP. The guy had become a household name even in the interiors of India where not too many followed western music those days. That was quite an achievement.

Must be. They build so many temples there. They have built a temple for Mamta Kulkarni.....and thats an insult to Elvis.

sometimes you have to pay people so that they will go away, cause many accuse mainly for the money. he had his day in court and was proven not guilty. if you don't believe in the jury verdict, that's fine, it doesn't mean everyone else has to join you as the norm in our society is to respect the courts. and you are way OTT in claiming "many would call him evil!". anyways, if you want to respond to this post, I suggest you start a new thread and leave this one alone.
If anyone is guilty, it's the parents who let their kids hang out with him. I can only think of 2 reasons why anyone would do that: (1) They felt some weird kind of pride that the "KING" himself wanted to play with their kids. Star-struck idiocy. (2) They planned this out carefully so they could get rich.

ARR on MJ:
I am shocked at the untimely passing away of Michael Jackson, one of the greatest musicians of our time. MJ, for most of our generation was an icon who made uncompromising music. He pushed the milestone of pop music to unbelievable levels through the 8os and 90s. I am yet to find an artist with that energy, perfection and vision. I met him personally after the Oscars [ Images ] in Los Angeles and we vibed very well. He said that he loved India and the Indian people. He said he heard good things about me and he was praising the chord progression of Jai Ho's chorus. He was bursting with energy and told me that every dance move he did, came from his soul and did a five second stunning example. It was like a lightning strike :) He was concerned about developmental issues such as global warming and about wars and its damages to the human community. He asked me to compose a unity anthem on the likes of We are the World for him. I nodded in awe ...! He introduced me to his three lovely bright Kids. The kids told him "I love you dad" and he replied "I love you more" as a proud father. I wished him well for his concerts and he said "God Bless you". After hearing the shocking news I wished it was another rumour which would fade away soon. It took me time to believe that he is no more. I remember, my late sound engineer Sridhar had brought me a video of the premiere of Remember the Time when I was recording Kadal Rojave for my first movie Roja [ Images ]. Seeing it inspired all of us that afternoon. Now, there is no Sridhar and no Jackson anymore. I hope all of us value people's existence more and respect them when they are alive. LIFE IS SHORT...! Artists and their art live for ever. Jai Ho, MJ ! We love you for your music, regardless of all the controversies! A.R.Rahman 25 June, 2009

I am listening to Black or white and i have to say, no one can make vidoes like him. I mean u need serious thinking of how to make a video, after knowing your lyrics and the music. Amazing how he used to make his videos.. Lions, Africvan jungle clips.. Tigers.. Class.. Just Class..

I have not been following Jackson for over 10 years, but apparently he has kids named Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket. On the financial side he's 400million$ in debt. If he's died intestate his estate might be contested but I read he has catlog rights to the Beatles' songs and his own. Should provide good residuals for his kids throughout their lives.

All of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s' date=' a part of us died today. RIP Michael. May you get the peace which you so desired on earth in the life after.[/quote'] Totally. His music was the soundtrack to our lives. Sure it was on pause, but today it stopped. Forever. Pretty choked.
