graphic23
^ Right, a retired guy versus one who has clearly not announced his retirement and who is in reasonably good batting form. What will it take for you to understand that Dhoni or the BCCI Selection Committee will no go back on its plan to develop a core group of young players, and we can't have sudden replacements like Dravid, who has not played a single game for nearly 2 years now. You are showing incredible immaturity when you call for Dravid's inclusion in the ODI team. Dravid is an automatic selection for the test team, and rightly so. Ganguly and Dravid were dropped from the LOI formats with a specific plan in mind. They will not be recalled because Dhoni would rather these guys go through these failures, and the team lose now rather than lose in the World Cups, Champions Trophies, etc. Link to comment
The Dark Horse
RD will be better than any of these boys but when are we going to give fringe players a chance? Two years from now, u cant have an unknown player at no.3. Test the youngsters as long as the likes of sehwag and sachin are around. Link to comment
coffee_rules
badri will replace nohit in the 3rd match, don't worry. Link to comment
riya
Now we need to find new players .If Rohit can't play some one else,we cannot go back to the likes of Dravid.Yes he would have been great .But thats how it works in transition time. Link to comment
punjabi_khota
Wait, so what is the point ? That Dravid never gets out cheaply or that the team never got a subpar score when Dravid plays ? I mean, look at how many ODIs have we lost ...ONE ? Just one ****ing defeat and the biatching and disguised Dravid worshipping has begun ? Link to comment

Sharmila
I can't tell you how sorry I feel for M.S. Dhoni. Worked to the bone, being asked to prove himself despite of what he's already achieved. Link to comment

Holysmoke
Dumb thread. Dravid ka ODI life-history is over. This thread belongs to the garbage bin, because it isnt funny enough to be in the jokes section either. Link to comment
Lord
I appreciate the captain when he was doing the right thing for the team. In the recent past, kaptaan kewl is a totally different person and deserves the criticisms. You are too much of a Dhoni supporter to see that. Anyway, this is not about him. Wont be drawn into that debate here again. Similarly for other players, they get the accolades and open bus tours for success, they can surely be prepared for strong criticism when they let the team down. (not talking abt legends in this statement) when he does well, hes kaptaan kewl, wen he does badly hes Dhobi.i'm Dhoni's harsh critic but even i don't flip flop like that.decide wat he is Dhobi or kaptaan kewl?or better just call him Dhoni. i don't like our players being abused by names like Drawvid, dumble,Yuseless etc. on OP-Dravid's ODI career is over.this is an inconsequential series n there is no point having Dravid.i'm actually not too sad that this happened.this is only way to learn n improve.n for those who dont learn,we can dump them so that we have a team of tough nuts for imp. tournaments Link to comment
vvvslaxman
No recycling please. If Rohit fails move on to new player not Dravid. This is a pointless series anyway. Let us try to gain something out of it. Link to comment
youngindia
Nohit Sharma wont take us anywhere in ODIs. So' date=' lets forget him for ODIs - absolute disaster in ODIs.[/quote'] if you remember, rahul dravid failed miserably in his first few one dayers despite making his debut later at 24 many ill informed fans were calling for his head at that time- "why is he being persisted besides his poor performances".gavaskar cautioned that he is a proper batsman and should not be judged by these performnaces. the test matches in england arrived quickly enough to save him. rohit or raina should not be judged by these performances here. he is finding his feet and should be allowed to find his feet. they made their debuts way earlier than advisable. But given that already no SRT, Sehwag and Raina, atleast one veteran who can stabilize things if needed could have been added to the mix. that would be a backward step. let the youngsters get a chance here and face their demons NOW rather than a year or two later. the team would be better for that. But this way one will never give younger players a chance to develop at the international level. Link to comment
Sachinism
India are looking to develop a young group of players. Something like that takes times, you can't expect people to walk in the team at international level and start handing out ass-whoopings every day. You need to be patient, give the players time and it will do us well in the future. Link to comment
fineleg
^ With Rohit, selectors have been VERY, very patient. Time now to give him the boot. And, no one is suggesting only seniors in the team, but a mix of seniors and younger players. Link to comment
