Ram Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 What a non comparison, comparing something that happened 5 years ago to something that happened just recently. At that time of year, from that airport, the only connecting flight from K.L to Chennai was AIR INDIA. Time was of the essence. I don't know how much things have changed in 5 years, and I honestly don't care, but for an international airline, the experience was mediocre. And yes, if given the choice, I wouldn't fly on it again. What non-comparison? I did not claimed you lied. You told your experience, I told mine. But for an international airline, Air India is more than adequate.
Holysmoke Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I dont mind Air India. The airline isnt as bad as it is made to be. The problem I have with Air India is the people. There are a lot of senior citizens, and sometimes they dont leave the restrooms as clean as you desire if you are the next one in. Somehow after a few hours the cabin starts smelling. The last time I came, I was on a direct flight from New York to Mumbai, and after 13 hrs the cabin smelt of a mixture of sweat, body odour, urine, cheap air freshner, and Indian food. That was horrible.
Texy Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 did anyone ever flew AEROFLOT...russian airlines.... horrible....only plus side...hot flight attendants
Macj Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Airlines need to have hot hostesses with fine T&A and a good booze selection, I do like the private suites on Emirates though.

The seat extends into a bed and you can sleep through the journey on an actual bed with special drink service and good looking flight attendants.
coffee_rules Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Used to fly Air India. They are ok as long as there are no problems. But we need better customer service the most when we have some problems. Everybody is happy and courteous when things are fine. We flew to India with a 2-month Infant and on the way back. They had charged for the ticket (some 400 bucks) even tho she flew in our lap. The problem was when we reconfirmed our return journey we didn't tell them that the infant was flying in lap with us. We didn't have a paper ticket for the infant to begin with. On the way back, they charged 200 bucks for the infant just for that. We were so hopping mad. The guy at the counter refused to fly the infant. We spoke to a manager, who claimed that we didn't pay for the infant to begin with. No paper ticket means we are flying an infant for free. Absolutely *****y Airline. They can't see in their computers if we have paid for a ticket. Vowed never to fly them again.
Texy Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 A New low for Delta airlines NOW they are charging $25 for the 1st checked luggage $35 for the 2nd!!! wtf! flying is getting costlier by the day -- taxes, security fees and now baggage charges http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/01/12/delta.baggage.fees/index.html
triam Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Aeroflot is the king of bad service. Flew to India with my friend during grad school days because there was a significant price diff (>300$), the experience was out of a movie. No problems in the first leg to Moscow, except that the flight was really really old, they still had ash collectors in each seat. The second leg from Moscow to Bombay was really really fun. First off, they had a flight to New Delhi at 6 and a flight to Bombay at 9, both the flights were only half full, so they decide to fly everyone to Delhi and from ther to Bombay in one flight. They announced this apparently in russian, no one speaks or understands english, so half the people were in the wrong terminal waiting for a flight that was never scheduled to leave. Somebody made a mistake comparing the total number of people vs the total number of seats available in the flight, so the flight we were boarded into, had 400 people jostling for 390 seats (somehting like that), no seats were assigned, so close to 10 people had no seats in the flight, the overhead bins were full and they already closed the cargo section, so people withut seats + people with lots of carry on luggage milling around. Everybody starts screaming and shouting at the Hostess who doesnt know or doest want to talk in English, keeps screaming back in Russian, asks the people who are already sitting to scooch over for the people without seat. Situation escalates, hostesses run to the pilot dont come back and the freaking flight starts no safety routines nothing. PEople just run around sit where possible and hold onto their dear lives, hostess comes back after flight takes off and offers business class seats for people who didnt have seats, the whole experience was ridiculous and me and my friend were laughing our asses off. So finally we reach bombay 22 hours late for no apparent reason.

zen Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 My worst experience has been with Emirates. I was traveling from Nice (France) to Mumbai via Dubai (its hub) and they somehow forgot to upload my luggage on to the Mumbai flight (at Dubai). That's fine but its customer service at Mumbai was horrible. The guy acted as if I was at his mercy for my baggage. I wrote a long letter to Emirates abt it and they apologized for it .... But this was sometime ago And yeah I have heard about bad experience on Aeroflot on Moscow-India routes to the extent that they serve half glass (of whatever) to Indians, while serving full to fellow Russians
Ram Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Speaking of bad airline service, take at look at this; No AC on Spicejet flight, passengers furious Press Trust of India, Tuesday January 12, 2010, Mumbai An Ahmedabad-bound SpiceJet plane made a landing under emergency conditions in Mumbai after a passengers fell ill because of lack of air conditioning on the aircraft, but passengers are livid, they say SpiceJet chose to fly the plane despite several complaints. The flight took off with 170 passengers from Bangalore at 5.30 pm on Monday, almost one-and-a-half hours late. Its route ahead was a good eight-hour journey, rather long for domestic routes. Yet the flight took off with no air-conditioning. "When we complained about the heat, we were told the AC is not functioning. They assured us that once the flight takes off, it will work. But after 10 minutes, we were perspiring and it was intolerable. At Goa, passengers protested forcing the plane to return to the hangar. But again, 10 minutes later, it took off. The AC was still not working,'' said Vinod Agarwal, a passenger. So intolerable was the heat that the passengers began fanning themselves with instruction pamphlets. Some of them even took their shirts off. Feeling suffocated, a foreign tourist got off at Goa. Then a young man got breathless and the flight had to make an emergency landing in Mumbai. ''We were scared. The fear was that if the AC is not working, could there be other technical failures. Because of lack of oxygen one person fainted. He had to be put on an oxygen cylinder. A lady passenger from Norway, a doctor, attended to him till we emergency landed in Bombay,'' said Anil Sharma, another passenger. At Ahmedabad, external generators were installed to get some cool air into the cabins. Then the much-delayed flight left for Jaipur. ''We were treated like animals. We were literally held hostage,'' Anil Sharma added. By the time the flight arrived at its final destination, it was three hours behind schedule and passengers from Bangalore had been aboard for nearly 10 hours. http://www.ndtv.com/news/india/ac_failure_forces_spicejet_flight_to_make_emergency_landing.php
The Outsider Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^ That is just horrible. Once on a train journey in AC chair car from Lucknow to Allahabad, the air conditioning conked off and this was during summers. Even though it's only a 4 hour journey, it was just unbearable because in AC coaches there is no way to even open the windows. The stairs on the compartment entrance were premium sitting spots.
coffee_rules Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^^Good that nobody didn't try to open the door/window to let some cool air inside.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 i have a spice jet fliight in cpl of days:cry: wil neva fly low cost again....is baar bacah le bhagwaan:pray:
