DomainK Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 SYDNEY: One more bad news for Shoaib Akhtar! Former coach of Kolkata Knight Riders John Buchanan of Australia has revealed in his new book that Pakistan’s fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar tried to teach fellow fast bowlers of Knight Riders a few 'tricks' during the IPL’s first season. John Buchanan in his new book ‘The Future of Cricket’ wrote a whole chapter on Shoaib Akhtar, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in Season One of the Indian Premier League. The Australian coach said in his book that the Rawalpindi Express had tried to teach ball-tampering to his fellow fast bowlers. He further said that Shoaib Akhtar told them various methods used by some of his fellow Pakistani fast bowlers. Buchanan has also wrote in his book that former coach of India Greg Chappell had warned him that Shoaib would be his biggest problem. John Buchanan further said in his book that Shoaib was trying to build a culture within the Knight Riders which he did not like as coach. Source: http://geo.tv/7-28-2009/46661.htm

Texy Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I don't believe Buchanan in this one.... he'll come up with all kinds of stuff to save his own azz..... I will definitely prefer Shoaib akhtar over Buchanan anyday
MUMBAISKIPPER Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 shoaib should write a book now...title should be "Me and Controversies"
Fontaine Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Nothing the whole world didn't know already. Shoaib and a lot of other Pak bowlers are scumbags.
hari504504 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Imran has openly admitted that they used to "work on" the ball to get it to reverse swing..during his time..
Max_Cady Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 he spent a fair bit of time tampering with rukh rukh's ballz i think buchanan got jealous
Cricketics Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Buchanan is just trying his best to stay in news after being kicked out from the knightriders arena. What a great coach. Had he known this before, why didn't he share this with the world before??? He thought akhtar is getting thrown around by media, and hence thought of picking on him to gain some points and fans.
Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I saw Wasim bhai using his nails to scratch the ball on fox sports the other day. They were showing a classic game from world series and I could see Wasim bhai using his skills... For Bukha .. he can go to hell ... he is trying to make money. He is just trying to sell his book by writing crap about UV , Ganguly and Akthar ... isnt it amazing that he hasnt said anything controversial about any aussie player (especially horny warnie )

Lord Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Imran has openly admitted that they used to "work on" the ball to get it to reverse swing..during his time.. nothing wrong with that if done within the laws.even India did it in B/G trophy in 2008
DomainK Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 nothing wrong with that if done within the laws.even India did it in B/G trophy in 2008 Imran Khan has described in his biography how he used to use bottle caps on the ball in drinks breaks. He has openly admitted to ball tampering.
rainy day Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 how he used to use bottle caps on the ball in drinks breaks. Exaggerating aren't we ? Imran said in his book he only used an object ( bottle cap ) to tamper with the ball once in his career in a county a match. He admitted to scratching to ball in International cricket which many players such as Holding, Atherthon have confirmed to be a common practice all around the world in that era.
kabira Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 >He admitted to scratching to ball in International cricket which many players such as Holding, Atherthon have confirmed to be a common practice all around the world in that era. yeah common place amongst Paki bowlers :)
