Countdown to Mr. Cricket's average below 50

:haha: Dude' date=' he was averaging almost 70 at the time. His place was cast iron certain back then.[/quote'] IIRC, he did suffer a loss of form before that tour. Had an average series with India (did score a 145* though) and then did not do very well in the subsequent tour of WI. I also remmeber Mark Nicholas shouting "Hussey has given himself a new lease of life" at some stage during that innings at Bangalore.

Awesome Mr. Cricket! Never doubted this brilliant skills with the bat, but maintaining 80 average for longer period was always going to be impossible. The inning that he played against Pakistan in Sydney to bring Australia back from nowhere and now this one to fight it out for hours are true indications of a great batsman.

if there was any doubt about him being a home track bully
His offshore stats no doubt need some working. The reason why I rate him so highly is b/c of his mental strength. Guy has played many match saving knocks and handles pressure better than his other team-mates and many other international batsmen.

Yeah, Hussey is a legend! 1 wicket in 5 sessions!
What does it say about the bowling of Ingerland (who supposedly have a superior attack :hmmm:) when they allowed a 300 run partnership between one batsman who was on the verge of being dropped and the other who missed a lot of cricket due to injury ? :phehehe:

^ You're barking up the wrong tree. Care to find one post of mine where I hyped up the English attack?
So a (nearly) double hundred came against a **** attack ? :hmmm: You do get the irony don't you ?
