msb1991 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 This may enlighten people that he is not ready for Test cricket, as he is not in top First Class form. His OD form looks very good though and looking at the overall average and economy rate, he should be in line for an OD call up, if Mishra, Ojha or Harbhajan put a foot wrong in the future.
lonestarranger Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 didn't someone say he has a carrom-ball? :woot::woot::woot: Yep the ball looks lilliputian compared to his huuuuge frame. That's why the ball looks like a carrom-striker in his hands :D

Trichromatic Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 27 matches, 140 wickets Can he be third fastest to 150 wickets? http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/283532.html

Trichromatic Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 23 matches to go (assuming 2 match series against Pakistan won't happen) till March 2017 17 in India, 1 in SL, 4 in WI and 1 in Zimbabwe - all favorable conditions.

That's a lot of favourable pitches... should easily leapfrog Chuckmal and Yasir Shah too perhaps.

If he goes at this rate of 5 wickets per match(easy peasy for him in these conditions) he will end up with around 260 wickets in 50 test matches by then. Average too i expect will come down to the 26-27 mark. And he will be 30 years then. Great future ahead. Only shame is that he has played only 26 matches till date. He should have played at least another 10 matches. Our management still feel Jadeja, Karn are better spinners than him? :hysterical:
Precambrian Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Has really come of age and now looking genuine world class. Bamboozling someone like Sanga as if his biatch is something!
Precambrian Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Actually should be made vice captain. The best talker in the Indian team. Used to write very decent articles in Cricinfo before he debuted for India from memory. Is well educated and well brought up. Refined and to the point. A born leader of sorts imho.

As for Karn, :hysterical::hysterical: I agree that Ashwin's record will improve tremendously... unless he loses his mojo through some inexplicable reason.
Precambrian Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 On the above point, I am unable to find his blog posts now in cricinfo. Pretty sure it was him, wasn't he?

Jadeja too averages around 20 when he played SC. Let him play, he will be effective again too.
CG Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Jadeja too averages around 20 when he played SC. Let him play' date=' he will be effective again too.[/quote'] jadeja is one dimensional bowler.ashwin can be a world class spinner
Precambrian Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Jadeja too averages around 20 when he played SC. Let him play' date=' he will be effective again too.[/quote'] Jadeja is unidimensional. Ashwin just showed a masterclass in how to bowl in SL - and the way he bowled to Sanga of all guys is nothing short of a revelation.
Marut Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Jadeja too averages around 20 when he played SC. Let him play' date=' he will be effective again too.[/quote'] Did you see how Ashwin bowled during the WC - this was when other spinners were getting flogged on Australian phattas. Jadeja is no where near Ashwin's class, SC or not.

I know that I am just telling you that Jadeja too has a pretty good record in these same conditions even if he isnt a better bowler.
