satishg
Well no thread on his performance. I think he was really good today. His first spell was very good except for his 8th and 9th over he had an awesome match. The highlight being the last over and the toe crusher to Lee! A good comeback guys, we all had ripped him off so i just though i would appreciate his efforts in this match! Hope he continues on this performance but he surely cant play all 7 matches. He needs to be rotated out both for his and the teams cause in the long run. Would not want him to burn out completely! If there is a thread already, mods please merge this with that one. saneindian
Given the kind of issues he has had with Venky Prasad, I think he went out today to prove a point and surprised everyone with his bowling. Lets hope he can build onto this start and go one better in the coming matches. Link to comment
satishg
Hmm maybe and the good part was, he bowled really well when both Paine and Punter were looking good in the middle and trying to up the tempo. Although Paine's wicket was a freebie i was happy with his performance during that period of the match. I would have loved it if Ishant had taken Punters wicket but he has a lot of chances in the series and i am sure his performance today would give him the much needed confidence to do well in the remaining matches. vvvslaxman
They were discussing about this today. He has started to get the ball back in now which was his strength. I don't know what changed. who changed. Link to comment
Guest Hiten.
He looked dangerous because he did not try to bowl short, he was not afraid of pitching the ball up and used the short ball very prudently (Paine's wicket). His last over was very smartly bowled and he got 2 wickets conceding only a single. Having said that, MSD is a really stuck up captain who would not drop any player based on 1-2 series' form, this might pay dividends if the guilty is ready to work hard and retain his place in the side. Let's hope none of the backed players take their place for granted . Link to comment
rkt.india
ya he is getting his action back a bit, this is a confidence booster for him Link to comment
Desi Cartman
I dont think he needs to be rested during this series unless we are 4-1 ahead. He is a youngster and should be able to bowl 70 overs over a period of 3 weeks. Link to comment
rahul005
I was quite impressed with how Ishant went with the ball, lets hope this will be help his confidence and maybe it won't be too long before he returns too his best.. still a bit too early to say though. Link to comment
ViruRulez
He was good in the first match but I wont say he is back into form with the single performance.. its too early .. let him be consistent for a few matches at least before judging him .. his speed was below 140 throughout his spells but his line and length were a lot better Link to comment
Zap_Brannigan
I am going to rate him based on his performance after every game and then decide how he performed Scale is simple, ranged from -10 to 10 where 0 is on par performance, 10 is great and -10 is worst performance. 1st game i would give him a rating of 3. If he ends up on the positive scale, then he did good. Link to comment
Sachinism
Missed his bowling, I think I just saw the 1st over. Good to hear he is getting some rhythm back, now hopefully he gets some consistency Link to comment
champ
he brings out his best when bowling to ponting and aussies .. but its too early to judge .. end of series will give an idea .. but the yorker to get lee was awesome and it was a long time since i saw an indian pacer did tat .. really enjoyed .. also 1 run in the last over was top class.. hope he builds on this confidence.. :two_thumbs_up: Link to comment
Riley's Girl
Only saw two of his overs. The 3rd over of the match, first ball went for 4 and I got this sinking feeling. Next 5 balls were dots. Then I saw the last over in which he cenceded just the one run and got rid of Lee with a brilliant delivery. From what I hear it was a solid performance overall. If he can cintinue in this fashion right through the series, and maybe improve (which would be great), it would be safe to say that he is getting back on track, imo. Link to comment
zubinpepsi
I think BCCI shud ask Zaheer to stay with the team.... he can atleast coach these bowlers when hes not playing.. Link to comment
zubinpepsi
Bowling so how does it look so good and disciplined?? issit cuz no venky to misguide these bowlers??? i start to think its a very good decision to get rid of venky.. and good to see Ishant hittig the deck hard... Link to comment
Gambit
Ishant bowling close to 90 Last three balls of his over at 87,88 and 87. Looks like the departure of Bangalore bullock cart has unshackled Ishant. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
He is back bowling hostile high 80s:yay: Maybe Prasad was telling him to bowl slow:cantstop: Link to comment
Desi Cartman
Sala Prasad was spreading the Line and length only disease ... Thank god he is gone Link to comment
