Rajiv Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Its always very very special and that too in heroic fashion, I watched a bit of it before and guy plays well Due to our heavily guarded batting line up, it will be a while till we see fresh blood for batting in our test team
DomainK Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 He is a good batsman. Very good temperament, very unlike Pakistan kind of temperament. The guy can actually play like a pro.
veer Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 that kid is good.. these three are their future.. umar, ajmal, and aamer.. very good talent.. their batting order is cr@p though... three unexperienced guy at the top..
Guest Hiten. Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Without a doubt he's a good talent but what about Kamran. This guy has a knack of playing "rescuing" innings. Remember against us in Mohali and Karachi ? Can be a very gritty batsman when things are not going Pak's way.
Gambit Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Fantastic effort.Pity it will come in a losing cause.
Jersey #10 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 can he break ganguly or azaruddin's record? :omg:
cowboysfan Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 this kid is good.he backs himself to play his shots and is very confident.
vvvslaxman Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 He is not afraid to play shots. Pulled them out of deep sh**.
champ Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 excellent innings by umar akmal .. looks special the way he is composed at the crease ..
saneindian Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 What an amazing innings!! This boy is special. Pakistan need to nurture him properly and they have a gem in the making.
Chaos Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 is dont like his batting stance. Not a hater or something, he will be exposed soon.
DomainK Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 is dont like his batting stance. Not a hater or something' date=' he will be exposed soon.[/quote'] He is not perfect. He has his weaknesses. But I think he will stay on because he knows his weaknesses and strengths and plays within himself. It's his temperament that counts more. I think the guy had good coaching.
Jai Ho Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 He is not perfect. He has his weaknesses. But I think he will stay on because he knows his weaknesses and strengths and plays within himself. It's his temperament that counts more. I think the guy had good coaching. what are his weaknesses? :cantstop:
DomainK Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 what are his weaknesses? :cantstop: Well, he is obviously technically not perfect. But like I said, he is a very good batsman.
donkey Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Have BCCI enforced flat tracks and stamp size grounds been given their dues by our neighbors. Certainly remember that being the case when Indians piled up centuries.
jusarrived Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 is dont like his batting stance. Not a hater or something' date=' he will be exposed soon.[/quote'] hes certainly better than his brother & very young ...Pakistan has never produced techly correct bats anyway. U Akmal will be a better ODI player tha tests , but I can see him playing some match saving/winning innings in tests once in a while as well ....45+ avg bat for tests imo .
satishg Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Umar Akmal is one of the brightest young talents in world cricket at the moment. I saw him play in the champions trophy and he looked like an exciting kid and he has proved that now. Hope he goes on to play a long time for Pakistan.
bunny Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Was very lucky early on. Survived a drop catch, another half-chance. will need to improve a lot. But he is quite aggressive in his attitude and strokeplay, and that can sometimes compensate for other shortcomings.
