Manish Pandey is not a slogger by any means, he just plays some shots awkwardly like slogs, but he isnt that big hitter like Pathan or raina or yuvraaj. He does not hit sixes like these guys, he is more in the mould of Gambhir i would say

after sehwag i could care less about technique, pandey still plays some of the ugliest shots you will see but he produced during the whole season annd that counts more than anything.

Born September 10, 1989, Nainital, Uttaranchal :winky: What a superb innings it must have been - run a ball 150 where every other batsman struggled sounds something really special. The most impressive part looking at the scorecard is that he hit only 1 six and 18 fours. Can't wait to get some highlights from somewhere. Feel gutted for Karnataka to come so close and lose out, but in close matches Bombay usually prevails. Great final and hopefully will knock some sense for the next season to prepare better wickets.
As impressive as his runs' date=' averages, and centuries are the one thing which truly stands out is his strike rate. To maintain a strike rate of 80 over an entire domestic FC season takes some doing! I don't think even Sehwag had this kind of a strike rate when he started out.[/quote']
:adore: thanks outsider for acknowledging manish pandey as a good batsman for once :hatsoff:
I am also surprised to see Swetabh saying good things about Pandey. If I remember correctly Salil and Swetabh were the biggest bashers of Pandey at the start. It seems Pandey has impressed the whole of ICF now. Hats off to Pandey again. He is a perfect allrounder in all forms of the game and still an incredible fielder with an incredible catch. :adore:

Get this guy in the team instead of Yuvi. BTW in the video why the hell didnt Abhishek Nayar walk off? Hes just standing there looking back over and over again. Poor sport.

He has changed his technique completely. He cannot play the square drives that he was so good at. Keeps jumping/shuffling in the crease. I hope this change is just for T20s.

Hopefully the IPL failure in last few games helps Manish in his career. He is talented enough to work his way through and come back as a better stronger player. Though I have to say that I am disappointed at Kumble's handling of Pandey. 1-2 failures and he threw the lad out of the team. Take a look at SRT. Kept backing Tiwary and Rayudu despite them failing in 2-3 matches.

He's been playing very ugly shots. Not at all like the 100 he got in the last IPL.
His frontfoot movement is unorthodox. Even in Ranji he was playing like that. He has good sense of picking the length and line. But execution part sometimes go awry. It works for him though much like it works for KP. Some of the shots when he plays he is literally in the air like Tennis players.

Manish Pandey seems to fading away day after day ... he is going downhill as fast as he went uphill .. after topping Ranji there were a lot more expectations but he is going downhill match after match
