http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/match/fixtures/calendar.html#February2011 So according to this, WC 2011 will be played from Feb 19 to April 2. http://static.cricinfo.com/db/DOWNLOAD/0000/0045/ftp_2006_2012.pdf Now, according to the FTP, right after the world cup, we have to go to west indies to play 4 tests and 5 odis. So WC from Feb 19 to Apr 2 Windies tour from Apr 6/7 to May 10 (don't know if it's true) Then a break for a month and then to England for 4 tests and 5 odis. Where the hell are they going to be able to fit 90 games? :omg:

West Indies tour will be cancelled. Consider this, what if India looses pretty badly in the world cup. Will there be interest in IPL in India just after the World Cup????

LOL. Good catch. I dearly hope it's not scheduled before the world cup but I have a strong feeling that it will be squeezed before the WC because crowd's mood will be decided upon the WC show.

There could be two options; a) Looks like it might could happen somewhere from mid April to end May. The ODIs and T20 of that series might end early, leaving only the Indian and Windies test players occupied for the rest of the series, leaving others available for IPL or b) The Windies series gets shortened to just include tests, leaving the rest of the window till the English tour, to hold the IPL. Who knows, it might scrapped (or in official terms 'postponed to an unspecified later date..'). Dont forget, the IPL is increasing the player money/franchize from the value of $5 m/team, which they had for the first auction, to $15 m/team (I think..). So, there's lot of money to be made here and there's a good chance that both the Indian players AND the Windies players push for some compromise solution so that they can take part and rake in the moolah.

Sriram, don't be naive. It is bleeding obvious that tests will be cancelled and Odis will b shortened to 3 with 1t20. Cancelling test series gives ipl with 25-30 days which are enough to hold 60-70 games in that period of time.

There were no tests even supposed to take place in the first place. But then, there was this whole shrill about how the no.1 ranked team India was playing so few tests this year blah blah blah and the two test series actually got created out of nowhere. I dont think we'll get to a point where they'll ever cancel a test match series to hold the IPL, not until the current group of players including Sachin, Dravid are around. Besides, that will make the BCCI look like a villain and garner a lot of bad publicity for them. We might see a shortened test match series, but certainly no canceled test match series, in my opinion.
