I gave another try and found it gets better after that. I started enjoying exactly after the scene VVVS mentioned. Missing elephant :hysterical:

cric_fan Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Killer Joe Pretty intense and weird movie. Impressive cast. But some of the scenes and situations are disturbing sexually and violently. Matthe McConoughy .. one of the most interesting role he has ever played. Don't want to give it away too much as it is a noir type of movie. Definitely worth watching once. You may hate it or like it. But liked the story part . Didn't really love some of the disturbing scenes. All I can say is- KFC

Great acting, well thought out script & quite intense in places. I like how they explored the human side of Murphy- more in depth than the 1987 movie. It certainly will not replace the original- a timeless classic. But it is a commendable effort. 8/10

It seemed to me more the context of it- black history/slavery etc and that was reasanobly well enough explored- rather than the content. There wasnt a huge deal to the story and though well acted I found myself surprisingly disengaged from the main character. I kinda expected to be more emotionally involved- and I get very easily emotionally involved in films as it is

Just want a good action film.

She should give it a rest and calm down a little. I first saw her in a indie movie called 'Winter's Bone' where she gave a superb performance and got an Oscar nomination. I havent seen 'Hunger Games' and I'm not interested in it but I want to see 'Silver Linings Playbook'. Personality wise, I dont care how she is in personal life. What difference does it make to us ? Its the performances which counts and she is a good actress from what I've seen.
