The Dark Horse Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 1 gud innings and u all will be praising him again :cantstop: 1 good innings and he wont cross single digits for the next 10 matches
urbestfriend Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 cmon...What has he done wrong? 1 failure , you guys are asking for his head...! He is not the worst bowler , in fact he bowls pretty well at the start of the innings!
King Tendulkar Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 No doubts YP is not cut out for internatinal cricket. The gap between FC cricket to international cricket has exposed his batting. International teams with their battery of pacers will just steam in and bowl short which negates all YPs front foot slogs which are effective in domestic cricket. He was rightly tried but does not have class at highest level. Should be dropped
Sachinism Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Looks like people are finally realising it. He needs to practice a lot more before he can think about playing International cricket. He smashes these pathetic bowlers in domestic cricket who can't even bounce the ball high enough to trouble him and piles up runs. He needs to be sent to Aus to play there and see how he handles their bowlers at the domestic level
hari504504 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 1 good innings and he wont cross single digits for the next 10 matches Our very own Afretard..sans ball biting..:two_thumbs_up:
Karan114 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 cmon...What has he done wrong? 1 failure ' date=' you guys are asking for his head...![/quote'] Do look at his international record before saying people are writing him off after one failure. His game is woefully inadequate for top level cricket. As for his bowling - it is OK for a part timer but how much better than the likes of Yuvi?
vvvslaxman Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Yusuf's problem is limitation. Unlike his bro who has wide range of strokes this guy has very limited range. So anything outside his comfort zone is always going to get him into trouble. I am sure Indian team realizes this.
jusarrived Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 when lot of you wanted Uthappa for Rohit , i thot he should be picked ahead of Yosuf pathan instead . YP is a slogger & very unreliable .I dont like such batsmen in our lineup .His bowing is actually decent though , which makes useful ...but I would like Dhoni to sue him as a floater , especially while chasing big totals he should be sent at 4 as i cant see him finishoff matches for us against good pace attacks
The Dark Horse Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Our very own Afretard..sans ball biting..:two_thumbs_up: and he has brains.
Jadoo Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Still cannot understand why Pathan gets selected ahead of Uthappa, he struggles quite badly against good first bowlers. Lets hope team can recognise this sooner rather than later.
asterix Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Still cannot understand why Pathan gets selected ahead of Uthappa, he struggles quite badly against good first bowlers. Lets hope team can recognise this sooner rather than later. Because of Dhoni. He has his likes and dislikes..

The Dark Horse Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 coz of his bowling' date='he offers an option for the captain wen regular bowlers r getting thrashed.i agree Uthappa should been selected but instead of Vijay or Karthik[/quote'] He is no bowler, Raina is way better than him even in that aspect
Lord Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 He is no bowler' date=' Raina is way better than him even in that aspect[/quote'] n Raina is selected,no?Yusuf is pretty good with his darts,he can even open with the new ball,he can be pretty handy

Nobody expected him to be picked ahead of even Virat Kohli.
Lord Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Rohit should have never found his way through again. Nobody expected him to be picked ahead of even Virat Kohli. oh yes forgot him, yeah Uthappa should have been picked for Rohit.infact i think Rohit needs to be kept for tests only
The Dark Horse Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 n Raina is selected' date='no?Yusuf is pretty good with his darts,he can even open with the new ball,he can be pretty handy[/quote'] I mean-we have 3 specialist bowlers, 1 all rounder(who is only a bowler-but bowls well) and we have Raina, UV and Viru(after he comes) to finish the 5th bowler's quota. The problem is we have 2 so-called all rounders, both of them doing a fair bit in only either batting/bowling. Jadeja is better than other bowlers-so he is doing one part well, so no point in removing him. But Yusuf comes good once in a while while batting but gets hit with the ball, more often. May be Dhoni feels better having a cushion of 2 all rounders, but it would make sense having a specialist batsman instead of yusuf. And especially in the last match i felt we were one batsman short.
vvvslaxman Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 If Yusuf is a reliable hitter like Uthappa everyone would gladly have him. But his performance depends on how the opposition bowls.

And especially in the last match i felt we were one batsman short. from T20 point of view Yusuf is a batting allrounder.his batting is good, last match was difficult position for him,he had to slog from get go,never easy.we r feeling a batsmann short not because of Yusuf, but because somehow selectors excluded Irfan,he could have been a great no.7.Jadeja i think has improved his batting n atleast can slog on leg side now theres no point playing a specialist batsman at 7.we need an A/R. n we need as many bowling options as possible.one of our bowlers is almost certain to be slaughtered every game,so part timers can step in then
