Indian strategy for Super 8s

what should be India's strategy for Super 8s?should they continue with 3 spinner strategy or bring Zak back? i think we won mostly coz of our batting?if we were bowling first,we would have been raped with just 2 seamers,hope Dhoni realises this n bring Zak back.Chawla is useless anyway also i would like Zak to play a role similar to what Gul played in last T20 WC.PK should bowl all 4 with new ball while Nehra should bowl 2 in front n 2 at back.Zak should bowl 3 if not all 4 at the death

that is good in theory but Zak is not that great death bowler,I think they need to give PK all his overs upfront and ZAK and Nehra have 2 overs each in the end and hope for best. but Bhajji has to improve his bowling and be a strike bowler or else it will be tough for team India it was his over which jump started SA yesterday.you are right Chawla should not be in team he is just useless.

India must start taking wickets and creating opportunities. Defensive line by all bowlers mean there won't be wickets. Dearly we miss Mishra.

1. Play the guys who are in form. 2. Play every game as if it's an KO game. Unless the pitch is slow, they will have to go in with 3 seamers. As the tourney progreses, the teams start settling down so something that worked early on in the tourney may not work against a team that has settled down and has worked out its in form combination. This is where the part-timers could go in for a lot if a batsman gets stuck on them. This is where we need to have good bowlers who can not only restrict but also look to pick up wkts

Exactly . Inform players are important. If we had Uthappa i would have been far more comfortable. He can pull off wins out of nowhere while chasing. If Gauti is not recovering get Uthappam on board.

We definitely can't go in with 5 bowlers and YKP. That makes the batting very vulnerable. If YKP is included, he must be treated as one of the 5 bowlers. We can always rope in guys like Raina/Yuvi if one of the 5 are getting clobbered. We should play Rohit in place of YKP or one of the 5 bowlers.

The problem is that you guys cast Chawla as a genuine bowler - he isn't..he is a bits and pieces cricketer who can bat bowl and field a bit ..the kind we need in T20..the likes of Mishra is nothing but a liability as a fielder and batsman...He may take 2 wickets..but he would neutralize it by dropping 2 catches or giving away runs through misfields..Chawla is a much better fielder and batsman lower down

To me only 2 of Yusuf, Jadeja, Chawla must be playing. The third spot must go to Rohit as we're clearly a batsman short. And yes I don't consider Yusuf a frontline batsman. I' happy with the rest of the team. Maybe we can look at Zak coming in for PK but thats about it. # seamers is a luxury we can't afford.

Um... Chawla doesn't really give that much value with his batting, and if we have gone past Bhajji and are going to depend on Chawla to pull us through, we might as well play 11 batters. Look at the other teams, they have some pure bowlers who can't bat.

1. Pick Rohit ahead of Chawla, will bowl as good or bad as Chawla 2. Bhajji needs to be told that he is an "Off Spinner" and needs to bowl like one and not like a dart thrower (esp during the middle overs). Ditto for Yusuf too. Needs to cut down on the speed of his deliveries, on thes epitches let the batsman generate all the power and don;t give him too much pace to work with. 3. Openers should be asked to play it relatively safe for first 4-5 overs, there is enough firepower in this line up to capitalise on a solid start 4. A bowler in the middle of a good spell should finish his quota of 4 overs on the trot, why give him 3 overs and save his one over for the death when he will go for plenty of runs. This is esp true for bowlers like Jadeja and Bhajji

I guess, my fears came through against Australia!

Just 3 regular bowlers in there, with bowling all-rounder(s) (who should be the 5th bowler(s)) and part-timers filling in for 8 overs. You can't expect to do well just based on your batting. Team India needs to pull its socks wrt strategy as well
