hari504504 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 - Umesh (currently bowls around 145 kmph' date=' gives much needed pace boost to our attack, which could be useful against teams like Pak, SL, Eng, NZ, WI, etc)[/quote'] Lets make this clear..Umesh is no Tait or Steyn... even in IPL..with those 4 overs and in the evening when it isn't that hot..his pace was fluctuating between 125 and 145...(this maybe the speedgun..but that is all we have to know how fast he is actually bowling) 145kmph is not his average speed by a long shot unlike what most people here seem to believe :hitler:

And who said he is Tait or Steyn? I said that he is pretty quick. I could see how some of the guys were slow when playing him. Given the option that we have, I wouldn't hesitate to try to groom him for tests
achilles Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 The bigger question is, while there be Test cricket after 2 years :dontknow:
Pagalpanti Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Fail predictions Scary thought indeed, lets hope our young players can grap the opportunities they get and prove they have the ability. I recently read a interview by Rahul Dravid, where he said that he and his peers would like to be remembered for leaving Indian cricket in a better state than when they had joined and they certainly have done that. I hope the players coming in to step into their big shoes don't undo the hard work that was done by our greats. What a jinx this turned out to be.

adi B Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 :hysterical: still people making predictions about the future team which certainly will not happen till bcci is numbnuts
Magneto Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 dont jinx it man Honestly, I don't see his body coping up. He plays all formats - Tests, ODIs and T20s (rarely skips a match if not banned or taking a rare break), IPL and CPL. Then he keeps which means he's active all the time in a match, captains and also bats (in the subcontinent). Then he is always busy with press conferences and busy explaining why his team lost. And whatver spare time he gets in between, he fills that up by acting in commercials. How much more can a man take?
bajrang Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Mukund/Rahane Gambhir Pujara Kohli Sehwag Rohit MSD Ashwin Rahul Sharma/Ojha Yadav Aaron

rajmarie Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 don know but knowing india maybe even fab 3 won retire in 2 years :haha: I think thats the route they will take...considering the sponsers pressure also. By the time we have to go abroad again..then they will retire...& leave basically more inexperienced team to handle the tougher conditions (or maybe they will retire soon seeing how they cant perform on Indian wickets also)
Ponka Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 OP Hope you're right but the way self denial is in progress dont be surprised if you see all these selfish pensioners in the side and that the team is: 1 - sehwag 2- tendulkar 3- dravid 4- laxman 5- gambhir
koksmayu Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 gambhir rahane kohli rohit pujara raina dhoni ashvin jadeja praveen umesh
Tiger80 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 The bigger question is' date=' while there be Test cricket after 2 years :dontknow:[/quote'] Test cricket is alive and kicking:two_thumbs_up:
dial_100 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 gambhir rahane kohli rohit pujara raina dhoni ashvin jadeja praveen umesh Whats wrong with people yaar. Kohli is not 1 down material. You need more of a Pujara type guy there. Or any steady guy. Who can stop the boat being rocked/collapsed. I would still play Sehwag for Raina. He has plenty to offer but not as an opener. This is my lineup gambhir rahane pujara Sehwag kohli rohit dhoni ashvin jadeja praveen umesh
