Badri dropped despite scoring a 50 as Steyn ripped through us at Nagpur. Admittedly didnt have an amazing series in the two other innings he played but still bit harsh. And what has Raina done to merit a place in his stead I wonder?

Badri is too timid as a batsman.n he looked clueless in next test.also hes 29.selectors r right in looking at youth about Raina,i'm surprised too.i'd have wanted Rohit or Kohli.but i think his ODI performance r being counted.certainly deserves a chance to show that he can play test cricket

i am also wondering if the the selectors are setting up yuvi for a failure here, selecting a player who is not in form and completely unfit .this might be yuvi's last test series if he fails.

But knowing him, he doesn't gives a toss and is basically a lazy fellow but dreams of playing test match. If he is fit and in form, he cannot pick and choose series which suits him..

Im preparing to bet my life savings that fatso Yuvi will come out blazing guns to save his career......and everyone will be praising him and then he will slowly drop off again. Rinse Cycle Repeat :antijinx:

lets see how hard UV has worked in the last few weeks. Im happy that experienced bowlers are back as it gives them a chance to make a come back into ODI team as well. BTW SACHIN IS BACK :yay:

Raaaainnnaaaa :yay: Welcome to the test squad :two_thumbs_up: YemVee :yess: why saha and why not Dinesh Kartik ? why no badri ? anyways rest of them are used to playing SL :giggle:

Good to know the selectors haven't given up on Sreesanth. Hope he gets a game and provides support to ZAK cuz going by history, harbhajan will be pretty ordinary against SL in SL.

Sreesanth is BACK ! :aha:

Wriddiman Saha over Dinesh karthi :hysterical: and people complained that Srikanth had Southie bias. :hysterical: Its not one man' date=' its the whole selection panel that is brainless. Why the feck cant they be asked to explain their Selection decisions? Sometimes I feel the Selection panel don't select the team but are just given the team and say that they have picked it.[/quote'] I feel sorry for Srikanth. He's got more brickbats than any "Bumbaiyaa" selector has ever got. And Saha??? The dude mightn't even get a game. I agree with the last part of what you said. Our captains are used to bullying the selectors into picking the players they want. Dada's done it, RD(or was it Greg Chappell) did it, MS is doing it since a while too. Lets hope these picked guys prove a point.

Being the skipper's friend has its ups. But Raina will have to earn his place. I am shocked to see him being picked over Badri. I'm sure the South Zone agrees with me on this.

Raina - I don't know. I agree with somebody who said earlier that Badri is on the wrong side of 20s so may be time to look at somebody younger. I would have looked at Rohit over Raina, given the fact that Rohit was the first choice against the Saffers when Laxman was injured.

^ the age is a factor in that is he going to be around for 10 years? Especially given that he is not part of India's ODI plans. It will be a bit like Laxman, who plays tests and then doesnt have much cricket unless the domestic season is on and he is playing for Hyd.

I think its time Raina was given a go, he's a senior member of the ODI team, one of the more reliable batsman. He may be able to transfer the form and the skill to the longer game, we'll never know if he's always looked at as a limited overs player

I don't understand why people are criticizing Saha's selection. If Dhoni has to sit out of a test match, which one would you rather have - a safe keeper or a batsman who can provide an extra 10-20 runs, if that. Karthik plays reverse sweeps against Murali on a turning pitch in a test match, FFS! With such a strong batting line up, the one thing we will miss from Dhoni is his keeping if he gets injured and not his batting. As a keepers Karthik and Parthiv are terrible, as evidenced in our last tour to Sri Lanka.

Karthik is a decent selection for ODIs given his batting ability and flexibility around the order. In tests, we don't need bits and pieces players and are better off having a proper keeper. As long as Saha plays as a keeper, and not as a specialist batsman; thanks again for that Srikkanth, you moron.

How are you guys sure that Saha is a better keeper than Karthik? Recently he gave 26 byes against WI A. All of that might not be his fault only but it still points that he is not a top class keeper like Dhoni is. Since you two are showing so much faith in his keeping ability, I'm curious to know when you guys saw him in the longer version to be so impressed!

I agree. Karthik is a better keeper than Saha. Also a better batsman. Ridiculous selection. And as someone said-
thanks again for that Srikkanth' date= you moron.
