Please rewind one test match and kindly notice who helped us win that.
you mean at home ? on a pitch tailor made for spinners ? correct me if am wrong , hes supposed to be our lead spinner right ? he picks up wickets once in 10 matches at home , completely useless outside India ..& we are supposed to feel lucky to have him ?

Since when have we been producing tailor made pitches for spin. Have you actually watched India play at home over last 10 years. What you have said is a lazy sterotype. Those days are gone of dusty spinning minefields ala the 90s. Shame for Bhaji as am sure he would have loved to bowl on some of those 90s tailor made pitches Jumbo had! Tailor made for spinners:hysterical: I tell you getting wickets in India is bloody hard work these days and Bhaji deserves all the credit for what he does. Warne must be wondering about these spinning tracks with his tragic record in India:giggle:

What choice do we have ? Kanpur test - Bhajji played a bigger role, its impossible to drop him with his record, its not like Jumbo's fit and ready to bowl. Ojha - did better (as per numbers) than Mishra in the warm up game. Mishra is talented but with the lack of quality seamers to support Zak, the pressure to maintain the #1 ranking maybe forces the selectors to pick on the basis of a single warm up game. TBH Bhajji shouldnt have been playing, no unfit player should play a 5 day match. The fact that an unfit Bhajji is picked over Mishra shows the confidence the management has in Mishra. The world knows how Lankans bully the opposition when @ home turf and the least we could do is play a fully fit team. But then with the bowling so thin on experience, it would have looked like India A in the field.

Agree with you. Perhaps the most Overrated player who gets wickeys on Dustbowls.

i will blame kirsten for this,he has no business picking him when he had yet to recover from the flu.I still cant figure the reason they dropped mishra,he wasn't that bad against south africa.

Poor Thread.Just one bad test and finey is at it again.Give him a break lady, he had flu.He will be back strongly in the second test, mark my words :nice:

mishra has been ok against national teams,he has done a decent job as a 2nd spinner.

Create tailor made pitches' date=' protect his place in the side by constantly picking him despite streaks of impotence with the ball (whereas the likes of Mishra get dropped the game after helping win us a test v. South Africa!), and he still continues to produce absolute rubbish. Until his place is in danger, at which point we get one good showing (on a dry, turning wicket in the subcontinent almost always), and then another streak of mediocrity.[/quote'] i am no fan of harbhajan and i hated his performance in this test (even said so on the match thread), but i have to point out that mishra is an absolutely useless bowler who isnt fit to tie bhajji's shoelaces. harbhajan gets preferential treatment because he is easily the best spinner in the side. ojha, as we saw in this test and on numerous other occasions, has no future outside of limited overs games. mishra is just an average leg spinner who is living off his debut fiver vs australia, he has been harmless in most matches since then. chawla has a googly and nothing else.

We have high standards when it comes to judging spinners. He is the senior most bowler in the team and the most experienced one. Its high time he stood up and be counted

Unless you give the new comers an extended run, you arent going to find out. We always compare Harbhajan figures with a new comer and say he is doing better. But thats like comparing Sachin's batting with a Raina. If it was Mishra or soemone else who bowled the same way as Bhajji did, you would have never wanted him close to the team again.

I think whats more fruturating for fan is to see how much he has declined lately. he was a genuine match-winner but the 'was' part is getting more and more emphasised. One of the effects of dropping him would be to have him come back strong, it does look like he has been taking things for granted lately. as for another spinner, we seem to have run out of our supply and I cant see another one on the horizon.

i agree that bhajji doesnt bowl like used to. you only have to look at his cumulative averages. this guy started off averaging under 25, was around 27/28 by 2005 halfway in his career and is now averaging 30. that shows you the decline. but he is still a big match winner. and recently he has shown he can take wickets away from home. look at the great series he had in NZ, for example. he will have his bad games, but he will get us wins too. thats just how it is with him. he is no muralitharan, no kumble, and never will be. people should realise that and stop expecting him to behave a certain way

We are not getting good spinners..Getting pace bowlers is out of question..What's the domestic sytem doing? Aise mein tho lutiya doob jayegi hamari (at this rate we will be in deep deep trouble).. Selectors should go out of the way yo select a 'wild card' bowler (either pace or spin) for every series..Just go and select some maverick bloke from any god damned town who has been doing decently in the domestic circuit.. Bhajji is obviously taking things for granted..There's so much difference between Kumble as a senior bowler and Bhajji as a senior bowler..Missing Kumble badly..Never thought we have to keep our hopes on a bowler like Bhajji who is so irresponsible....

The bloke is a clown, acts and behaves like a 8 year old. Its clear he called Symonds a 'monkey', you can tell he's that type. A player picked as he has friends in the team, instead of merit= FOR SHAME
