Jersey #10 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 :clap::clap: Only 9 Indians have been able to do this (inclusive Raina) Sachin offers him a big hug
Texy Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Left handed batsman....very much like Dada....awesome stuff.... India's future
satishg Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 good to see him play a very mature innings. The pitch was flat and the bowling was ok but still one has to play well to get a 100 and Raina did exactly that. Hope this is the start of a glorious test match career for Raina :)
fineleg Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 congratulations to raina boy! he is very fortunate to have the expertise of SRT on debut. Thanks to Tendu for that and kudos on #48
Deleted_User_1 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Yup he should not be taken out of the test team for Yuvi. If Yuvi just comes back for Raina for the 3rd test, I will put a cap in Dhoni's a*s.
Show_stopper Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Congrats Raina...repaid my faith in his abilities. I hope to see his career take-off from here.
King Tendulkar Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Well according to some this is our darkest hour. In that darkness Raina scores a ton:two_thumbs_up:
fineleg Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Yup he should not be taken out of the test team for Yuvi. If Yuvi just comes back for Raina for the 3rd test' date=' I will put a cap in Dhoni's a*s.[/quote'] danda, I agree. but knowing MSD, he will get his dost-bada-dost yuviness for test-3. :banghead:
Sid Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Left handed batsman....very much like Dada....awesome stuff.... India's future Completely agree with you he is in ganguly mode and if he can emulate Dada in test cricket that would be good news for Indian cricket,Ganguly was never a good player of short bowling like Raina but he gutsed it out and another similarilty is that like Ganguly,Raina is amaster player of spin bowling which would be greaty help for him while playing in India as he would be playing most of the matches in India And Yuvraj shoulld be cursing himself of being ill just before this game, but when I compare bothese left handers,Yuvraj nevers looks assured against spinners and Raina most of the time dominates them I was hoping for Yuvi to cement his place in test side but his dismissals showed he is same old Yuvi tentative against spin ,so Raina should ideally be playing the last test also but as everyone knows ,he will not
ZodiaC Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 His knock today reminded me of Dada.. The way he played spinners specially Rainaaaaa :congrats:
Rajan Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 well played, very good innings under pressure.should be retained in the playing XI even if Gambhir and Yuvi are fit for the next 10 tests.
Lord Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 i wont be too excited by this innings.he got the runs but was barely tested.it was flattest track to debut on.we know hes good against spin n he again confirmed it. but i'm still not really sure about him as test prospect.he was still in ODI mode for me,every once in a while he'll go down the track n look to play the big shot against spin or play a slog.pitch was flat,so he got away with it,might not happen everyday he still looks awkward against short ball.can get into more trouble on bouncier conditions. i certainly wont want him at no.6 wen we tour SA this year however a 100 is a 100.he certainly should get few games consistently now.would be interesting who Dhoni goes for b/w him n Yuvi for 3rd test.
gaurav92 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Well played Raina, hope he continues the same form when he is given the opportunity to play on Bouncy S.African Tracks :D
