Lord Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Mohammad Yousuf has been called into Pakistan's squad for the remainder of the England tour, as the PCB reacted swiftly to Pakistan's 354-run defeat at Trent Bridge. Danish Kaneria has also been axed from the group following his disappointing bowling display, with the left-arm spinner Raza Hassan called up. The PCB released a statement that confirmed that Kaneria would be free to play county cricket for Essex and would be available to the Test squad if required. The addition of Yousuf should significantly strengthen Pakistan's batting for the remaining three Tests, although there was no call-up for his fellow veteran batsman Younis Khan the circus continues:haha::haha::haha::haha: Kaneria:hehe:
Sooda Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Overdue. Will be interesting to see the effect on the dressing room, the young guys from all accounts are a reasonably tightly knit bunch. Not sure these guys will be a good presence
Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 significantly strengthen? might as well call up yoonas khan too. i dont think the rresults will be any different. the only difference will be in the margin of defeat, so instead of losing by 354 runs they will lose by 180 runs instead. its clear to everyone who isnt a paki (or a retard) that the problem of this team is deeper than just the personnel, its about temperament. pakis are mentally fragile and **** themselves under pressure. especially their great phhaaaasht bowlers. this isnt going to change anytime soon, so niether will the results. pakistan had both youhana and yoonas when they were in sri lanka, what was the score there?
DomainK Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Which Moyo? The same one that was banned for bad performance in Australia?
Sachin200* Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Moyo aint no Tendulkar wont make any difference for this team as Pakistan havent won a test series since 2008 and no odi series win since 2010.
Sachin200* Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 PCB Pakistan clown board has no credibility i wont be surprised if WASIM WAQAR INZY join this team they are indeed in desperation for test series win which they havent had since 2006 no odi series win since 2008.
jusarrived Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 arguably the biggest FTB the world has ever seen is going to make a difference in thse conditions ? the pitches are not the same as last time both teams scored 500+ in almost every innings . YK on the other hand , though not great technique can be effective & unlike Yousuf does well under pressure .
ensd2 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Total circus : why they don't call back Younis Khan ? Paki will never beat England with retards like akmal who dropped 2/3 sitters per match : Eng are much better side than Australia
DomainK Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 He is not that bad....he has a good record in England. PCB was too harsh on him.
bear23 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 moyo had 2 things going for him. he was banned indefinitely and also retired. That is almost a sureshot formula to get into the pakistan team
Cricketics Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 This should have been done before. Actually it's insane to think that pakistan has not picked even Younis Khan. The guy is playing county in England, but because he is one of those nicer guys in pakistan teams, hence he is facing the veto from the pakistani selectors. Younis and Yousuf are a must for pakistani lineup. THey look so toothless rite now in England. Batting is in big trouble.
Texy Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 how can he come back without any match practice? his beard probably touching his feet by now
achilles Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Good to see Pakistan's best batsman back in the team. Hope Younis Khan makes the cut too. Will be a big boost to Pakistan.
Asim Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Good decision... Kamran Akmal should also be replaced, its more than enough what he is doing... I am sure even any batsman would keep better than him...
Asim Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 By the way calling up Raza Hasan is amazing, although he was looking promising in U19 WC but thats no way near to a Test level international cricket... He is still just a school kid with experience of only 2 first class matches...
Asim Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I want to see following replacements: Imran Farhat -> Yasir Hameed or Asim Kamal Azhar Ali -> M. Yousuf Umer Amin -> YounisKhan Kamran Akmal -> Any other keeper Shoaib Malik -> Abdul Razzaq Kaneria -> Saeed Ajmal All of them are very much available as well. Then can't the following lineup make a CHANGE? Salman Butt Asim Kamal M. Yousuf Younis Khan Umar Akmal Abdul Razzaq Wicketkeeper M. Aamir Umer Gul Saeed Ajmal M. Asif
Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Is this short term or long term? super short term. he will be banned again after they lose the next test by 180 runs/6 wickets. scapegoating and excuse making are the virtues on which paki cricket is built on
Bumper Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Is this short term or long term? In PCB terms, short term is one test match & long term is one test series. I reckon, MoYo will be chopped before his beard grows an inch longer.
