CSK Fan Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Recently a lot of gym trainers are marketing Whey proteins and other supplements. Fat loss programs are another hot sellers for gym owners. Whey proteins are pretty good. Made from milk
rkt.india Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 cool. you could may be aim to get to and sustain 20%(rather than 15%) due to the medical condition? I can certainly gain more muscles than that doing heavy weights, but losing last few pounds of belly fat is a challenge.
HIC_NAA Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Belly Fat can only be lost by cardio, one of the last areas to lose for a person specially love handles. On fat percentage, if someone needs abs then it should be below 7% and for good physique (non indian) fat percentage of around 15-18 is really good. Regarding proteins, my gym trainer few years back had told me a formula for protein intake- He told me that our body requires min 1.5 times of our body weight as protein in grams and good amount is double the body weight but as per him all dese craps pulses and all just have maximum of 5gms of weight and hence he had mentioned that people take whey protiens and even in that we should take isolated and not condensed as isolated has like 85-90% of protein in 1 scope of powder whereas condensed has like 70% with sugars/fats
Straight Drive Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Whey proteins are pretty good. Made from milk I took two cans (Whey proteins) after 5 years and since those both cans got over last 2 years i have not taken any supplements. Neither do i wish to take them again nor am i going to recommend those who take advice from me at the gym. Why to waste money and why to worry about side effects in long run when my fitness objectives are achieved without any kind of supplements.
HIC_NAA Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Buddy, Whey Proteins dont have any side effects, they are proteins in a bit of purer and better form that is it. Also they are same as we would get from the waste material which is produced while getting Paneer (home grown if you have seen). PS: Can anyone tell me how to quote a particular post

Then I think it is important to keep lifting weights too keep those muscles working and is use.

My fitness objectives are well met without them.
HIC_NAA Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Yes with cardio we will always lose fat as well as muscles, hence its good to always do weight trainings and good food. Also, when a fat person is losing fat he surely needs to do weight trng else he will have lose skin which will look really bad.
Detonator Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 guess I m around 15 to 20% body fat range :hmmm: for ppl who want to reduce belly, go uphill with a mountain bike or just a simple cycle. belly fat will be gone in 2 months.

Detonator Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Does high incline on treadmill count? yep. treadmills are better than normal cycling actually if you want to lose belly. guess you have to follow some specific steps on high and low inclines, for better results. imo, i find stationary bikes and treadmills boring. going around in mountain bike is more fun. even more fun if you have pets :--D
vvvslaxman Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 you had migraines? yup. I did.!! first time in my life.

Whey protein is supplement only in name, it is food

Yoda-esque Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 yup. I did.!! first time in my life. Stopped heavy lifting after headaches Just tennis soccer and interval running
Magneto Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I tore a muscle trying to do some stupid weight training :wall: :wall: Doc says no gym now for some time
rkt.india Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 yup. I did.!! first time in my life. I am suffering migraines since the age of 12. Used to have painful classical migraines, now have not had them for a while but still get normal migraines regularly.

Whey protein is supplement only in name' date=' it is food[/quote'] Egg is my source of protein. Have milk for breakfast sometimes (irregularly). Supplement is a very debatable topic, even Whey protein. I heard a theory from one of my gym trainer regarding Whey protein, and i principally believe it can have some kind of impact over long run. However, he suggested the ideal way Whey protein intake should be done so that it does not impacts negatively over long run. The concept he told may or may not be true as i have not researched to verify it.

Whey protein is supplement only in name' date=' it is food[/quote'] Milk and other dairy products actually have side effects. For some blood groups like O1+/-, excess consumption whole milk might lead to unstable thyroid functions, and for AB- processed cheese might cause digestion troubles. packaged milk is a different story altogather
nballa Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 protein is overrated anyways. there is no scientific evidence proving how much is necessary. its all rule of thumb. just take a clue from herbivorous animals which are muscular while eating hay.
