What if India and Pakistan were one team?

That is one awesome write-up. The majority might not agree with you. But reps for you. India has produced the greatest batsmen the world has seen and Pakistan has been home to the most phenomenal bowling attack to have graced the game. Club the two together, spice it with discipline, pepper it with hard work and you have the strongest cricket team on the planet.
I Sir, give you- Andy Roberts, Joel Garner, Michael Holding, Malcom Marshall

If you analyze it' date=' our seemingly ineffective bowlers (ZAK, Sree, Ishant, RP, Munaf etc) have taken 20 wickets in a test match far more consistently than the seemingly destructive, fast and unplayable powerhouse bowlers. How else are we at no1? Our bowlers may not be as fast, but they do a far more effective job as a unit.[/quote'] It is actually quite true. For all the talk we get about Pak. being a better balling attack, I have seen Indian bowlers win lot more test matches. I don't think much of Indian bowling btw

Our bowling works wel as a team, we dont have the talent of the young Pakistan bowlers but our bowlers are honest and more effective! Sure we would like to take Aamir, Asif, Yousef, and maybe Younis and Akthar for odi's but I would give up on cricket if this ever was to happen! Its like NZ and AUs merging due to their similar culture and geographics!! While i do believ we should unite as an Asian block, we dont need any association with the pakis, they need us.

I hate this stupid 'together' crap coming up ever so often. Its not like India and Pakistan are the size of islands of West Indies. Do the Australians or Kiwis ever come up with such fantasies? Do they ever whine about their relatively limited human resource pool?
:ditto: i totally agree with this!! never in a million years would i ever want to see our players with Pakistan!! and your right every so often some pendoo comes up with this fantasy of togetherness maybe seeded by the idea that once upon a time in some far away land of a golden era we were once one!! to those who thinks the togetherness is good thing... reality check!! its never gonna happen get over it!!!!

If both nations were one team, India would have claimed Pakistan world class fast bowlers as their talent. Pakistan have produced batsmen who averages in 50s but India is yet to produce a single express fast bowler who averages below 25.

So it really wouldnt have mattered.Azhar, when he was banned was one of our best batsmen, our greatest captain and was on 99 tests.

Lets leave it to tennis the way they have formed the team. Because of the tennis team has had success recently, people have started this indo-pak bhai chara all of a sudden. Let's not overreact.

In a way this is like asking what if PP and ICF were one forum :hysterical: (assuming that to be one team, we have to be one nation. Even if it is one team, two nations, they would fight over who should be the captain, come up with quota system and God knows what not) PS also one half of the team would be playing to win (Ind) and the other half playing to lose (Pak) :P

:hysterical: I am happy to have a team of 11 Indian cricketers who play to the best of their ability. Even if they lose to other teams, I can be satisfied that I am watching cricket and not fixers and cheats. I really don't need a Wasim Akram in my side. I don't care if he is the greatest bowler on earth, cricket is bigger than him.

It wud only benefit current day pakistanis. They wud beg for 50% share of profit that BCCI wud make, plus ask for 50% muslim quota in selection much like CM. Not to mention their tableeghe syndicate always looking for troubled player to brainwash and try to convert. And to think Sachin and pakis playing for same side is sheer humiliating.

y dont i see such thought emerge from the pdosi side? :dontknow: why do we have to be goody goody all the time?
cause only the goodies can be goodies. :winky:

Tough to say rkt. I believe the partition played a significant role in strengthening terrorism, but it's always tough to predict what could have happened if history was different. We need to swallow the present reality, stop fantasizing about the past and look towards building a better future from whatever we have in present. The fact is that partition did happen, Pakistan exists. As far as cricket is concerned, I would concede that India could have been a much better team with the quality of fast bowlers Pakistan has managed to produce (without the dishonesty part). So, lets hope we manage to do it from the massive talent pool we have within the country.
i meant if there was no partition thn only this could have been one team...otherwise if we think we had partition n still this could have been one team...then that is a ridiculous thinking...dnt even think about that...coz that itself is a fantasy.
