DomainK Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Seems like another great buy by KKR. Wait till he is coached by Sir Aggy.

thongale Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Really? I did say earlier that I do not care too much about what the stats say but this comment of yours made me go through the stats. In great detail. I checked stats of both Zaheer and Zoysa against Australia. In Tests and in ODIs. And also specifically against Gilchrist.Ha Ha! now you said you don't care about stats when I showed that Zoysa and Zaheer has similar career stats. Now when you want to prove a point of you make use of stats. This is classical double standards. Every single stat points to Zaheer doing better against Australia than Zoysa. Like this?:haha: vs AUS overall Zoysa - Avg 45.25, ER 4.50, SR 60.2 Zaheer - Avg 48.28, ER 5.98, SR 48.6 Both have not played much in Australia to compare. So please, stick to your own advice. If you don't want to discuss stats, be my guest and stick to your subjective opinions. I wouldn't give a rat's ass and won't be discussing with you after that. If you want to discuss with stats, learn the correct stats So please check for yourself whether Aussies rate Zoysa rather than a "certain" Zaheer. My, my, how can you talk on behalf of Aussies? Afterall you never rate stats?:giggle: It is even ridiculous that we are comparing Zaheer with somebody like Zoysa. I can understand comparing Zaheer with Vaas. They are almost similar in tests. In ODIs Vaas by a distance. Comparing Zaheer with Zoysa is like comparing Tendulkar with Kandamby. This is the best analogy I ever heard! And remeber that Zoysa played a better Australian team than that Zaheer played.
thongale Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 And when minnows are excluded, Zoysa 93 @ 31.25, ER - 4.76, SR - 39.2 Zaheer 184 @ 33.66, ER - 5.09, SR - 39.6 How about that for hard "statistical" evidence to show Zoysa is similar to Zaheer in everya aspect of ODI bowling? Oh wait, you don't rate stats.

Comparring Zoysa with Zaheer is joke overall as a bowler.I have already said, Zak is an Ordinary ODI bowler. But Test is the Purest form of the game and the basis of judging a quality bowler. In that Format Zak is way ahead of Zoysa. If you show ODI stats , i can show you too which will make you Believe Ajit Agarkar as Good as Akram.:winky:

(Fit and firing Zoysa was lethal than Vaas, but most of the time he was injured and could not bowl long spells). But we were discussing about ODIs. Agarkar may have been good but that was a heck of a peak for him. Wasim's stats in his peak wil easily dwarf Agarkar's. I think we have agreed here even after having different view points.

I dont think Zak is a quality ODI bowler as most of the games this days are played on Flat patas. To suceed on those wickets you need sccuracy, which our bowlers lack. But ZAK is one of the best Test bowlers around currently.
rkt.india Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 he does not use his right hand well in his action while bowling..thats a technical fault
