kumble_rocks Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 This is turning to be a popular sentiment among foxnews commentators/analysts like Bill O Reilly , Sean Hannity , Bernie Goldberg, Juan Williams etc. For all of you , following some recent activities , here is the gist of the discussion - Bill O Reilly a popular anchor of foxnews makes a appearance on the day time show "VIEW" hosted by Barbara Walters and bunch of ladies. The intent being to promote his new book "Pinheads and Patriots". O'Reilly claimed that "Muslims killed us on 9/11" to support his view that the plan for the community center and mosque is "inappropriate." Goldberg called O'Reilly an "extremist," and Behar said that she didn't want to sit next to him anymore. Then they proceeded to walk off the sit , only to come back later after a percieved apology ! I would like to add that Bill O got lot of grief for his comment and was forced to apologize for it. 24-7 news and print media picked on this and this story has been lingering for some time now. Couple of days ago , Factor frequent - Juan Williams from NPR news appeared on the factor and agreed with Bill's sentiment that "Muslims killed us on 9/11" !!. He got the axe from NPR today , which is sad , because one need not apologize just to appease politically correct crowd. But , the question begs can we pigeon hole an entire community for the actions of the few. Also, I wonder if the anti-Muslim rhetoric pose danger to religious freedom or are we run over by liberal political correctness. I guess it's too general to say - Muslims killed us on 9-11. But having said that , why should one have to apologize just to appease politically correct crowd. If Bill O feels Muslims killed us on 9-11 , so be it . He should not retract from his position and Juan Williams should not have been fired. http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/culture/37-history/4935-the-view-co-hosts-walk-out-on-bill-oreilly Anybody wants to add their two cents on this topic.
ravishingravi Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Well there can only be two position here. Yes, the terrorists were muslims and were motivated by elements of Quran to take this step, so factually Reilly is correct. But the other way of looking at it is that he is condemning the entire community for an action of few people.
Clarke Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Noooo, it was the damn martians  This stupid argument of not being a true ...... bcoz the book says so and so is bloody nonsense. What on earth was their battle cry, hail mother Russia ?
yoda Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 That's like saying Hindus killed Gandhi or Sikhs killed Indira or Tamilians killed Rajiv Gandhi. Such generalizations are typically done by those who already hate that group for some other reason and want to use this opportunity to further their agenda.

What on earth was their battle cry, hail mother Russia ? Agree that their batte cry was for Islam ... But it's not as if they(Al-qeeda) got their endorsement from entire muslim community to use the name "Islam".

Rajiv Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The proper sentence would be we were attacked by Islamic Terrorists. I don't see anything wrong in that.
Clarke Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The proper sentence would be we were attacked by Islamic Terrorists. I don't see anything wrong in that. that would be correct .. although the Obama administration will not use that term.
yoda Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 yaar you dont even have the capacity to acknowledge that what happened to KPs(and their plight is faaar graver than any 9/11 victim) was because of that community. and that was a repeat offense. The friggin country has been shrinking and been on the run for centuries but that has never prevented you guys from regurgitating sh!t from that book of mindless liberalism. So to answer the question : you will only say ohh sh!t Oreily was right when you have a gun against your head and your options are to die or go green. If it makes you feel a little better you are not the first one to have been offered that choice. Sounds like another copy/paste response. :hysterical: KP bla bla bla, liberalism, bla bla bl, P-sec bla bla bla. :winky: Whether you like it or not, there are good muslims and bad ones. To club them all into a single bucket isn't going to get any of us anywhere.

Hindu extremists killed Gandhi Sikh Ultras killed IG Tamil extremists killed RG So, why is there resistence to say: Muslim terrorists/Extremists killed us on 9/11 There is a interpretation of Quran that makes Muslims kill all non-muslims. Why is that hard to accept?
kumble_rocks Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Hindu extremists killed Gandhi Sikh Ultras killed IG Tamil extremists killed RG So, why is there resistence to say: Muslim terrorists/Extremists killed us on 9/11 There is a interpretation of Quran that makes Muslims kill all non-muslims. Why is that hard to accept? The problem here is , Whopi and Jay Behar , the co-hosts of "the View", walked out of the show because Bill O Reilly refused to use the term "Islamic Terrorists" which all of them ( I mean the 4 hosts) are fine with. He kept alluding to "Muslims" killed us on 9-11 , instead of using "Muslim Terrorists". That was their beef . So , the question begs - Is it not PC to use "Muslims killed us on 9-11". Also, Isn't their a context on "killing the Kaffir". BB can throw more light on this one.
Ram Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Bill O Reilly is a media personality. He has television ratings to keep up with and books to sell. Of course he is going to come out say and stupid things that get him in the news. These guys know exactly what to say, when to say, which manner to say it, so that it gets them the attention they need. To say Muslims (as an entity) killed Americans on 9/11 is as wacky as saying all catholic priests are child molesters.
yoda Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Hindu extremists killed Gandhi Sikh Ultras killed IG Tamil extremists killed RG So, why is there resistence to say: Muslim terrorists/Extremists killed us on 9/11 There is a interpretation of Quran that makes Muslims kill all non-muslims. Why is that hard to accept? No one is resisting, although that is not the point in the OP. And even those prefixes are an insult to that community/group, especially when the doctrines/principles of being with that community have nothing to do with their activity. For example, those guys who killed RG didn't do it cause they were Tamils, they did it cause they belonged to the LTTE. Same with those involved with 9/11 (AQ) or IG's killing (Ultras who were pissed off with IG's handling of the Golden temple issue and wanted revenge - I agree that is a rather long name for a group). Regarding the Quran interpretation, not sure what to say except that it is not evidenced by what is happening today. You don't see Mulsims going around killing all non-muslims, so it seems to be a very narrow interpretation by a few.
yoda Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Reely ? How did that place called Srinagar end up having hardly any non-Muslim anymore ? Martians abducted them ? How did those two chunks of land to the left and right of the country go nearly green ? There is a limit to being ignorant. and in b4 you throw some pathetic oneliners with a bunch of smilies throw some stones and vanish .... otherwise talk based on facts not fiction. According to you all of us must be dead by now since it is the job of muslims to kill ALL non muslims. :winky:

Help me explain this, How come hindus make a beeline to work in the Gulf countries then ? Going by your logic , they are next in line waiting to be killed. And mind you , these hindus go on their accord. Something doesn't connect here. But back to the OP , I guess a case can be be made that since Muslims irrespective if their nationality (Saudi , Paki etc) have particpated in Al qeeda and carried out 9-11 , so it should be ok to say that Muslims killed us in 9-11. However , a qualifier "Terrorist" would be appropriate , me thinks.
kumble_rocks Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Or according to you Kashmir should have been peacefull place where Pandits would be chanting mantras doing puja-havan and living happily ever after with the supposedly very peacefull neighbours. Or a little interior and closer to home all Muslims would have peacefully acknowledged that a wrong had been done to a extreemly holy shrine now that a high court has found it after conducting meticulous surveys ... This rhetoric game is easy to play you know ... Forget Gulf they would go to pakistan if they could become rich ... forget Pakistan you will find Indians in Afghanistan .... doesnt mean jack sh!t ... worse come worse they will go green ... how else do you think 180 Mill on each side went green ? Read history and try to read it from authentic sources not something that was written by Jawaharlal Nehru in "Bharat Ek Khoj". I have gotten tired of banging my head on this and I simply cant be bothered anymore as the chances of convincing someone like you who never could manage to say he was wrong about Tippu is remote. Oh Boy! Pardon my french , but you need to get over this weird fetish with Tipu. You are pretty generous in invoking his name thread after thread , post after post. If only you could replace with Vishnu or Siva , you certainly could have earned some brownie points from above .. in case you r a believer of course. Anyways, you want us to believe that a disgruntled KP like Mr Lal is more authentic then Mr Nehru ? Green is good ! Ask Al Gore !
